Genuinely don't know what to make of that game. Another day it could have been 8-0 and then next 2-2. As good as attacking display as I've seen in a while, we constantly created just looked nervous when it came to finishing, benteke was unlucky as he just come on mind. Firmino could have had 3/4. skrtel what a hit. I'm buzzing but genuinely a little disappointed we didn't get more haha! I know we were shake at at the back still, but considering sakho was out, it's good enough!

I do't think we were shakey at the back at all, we were up against De Bruyne and Aguero. I thought Skrtel and Lovren were excellent.

I agree, sensational result, our creating chances today and our pressing was top class. We could have scored 3/4 more, especially Firmino. But better to miss chances when you don't need extra goals . Defensively my main concern was that we kept passing back in our own half or were sometimes a bit slow to release the ball, not aware that City players are threatening. We should be a bit more responsible with the ball in our own half. I was happy that Klopp said we weren't great defensively. Some work still to do.
Few players to mention. Couts and Firmino obvs (but Firmino has to work on his finishing) . I was very happy with Skertl goal to compensate for his mistake with the goal. Ming came out of the box one critically in 3:1 - one thing he was poor at doing in the past. Moreno was great I thought not only in going forward but defending he is growing to this role. Clyne was good. Milner whatever you think about his accuracy, his work rate is just unbelievable, he is always where the ball is never stop running.
Overall very happy man today.

City got off easy. Should have been 5 up by HT. The goal we gave up was weak and Klopp was raving mad going down the tunnel. All in all, our best away perf in years. Klopp is not a genius. Why? He said so himself. Football is a simple game and all he has done is simplify the game for the players and now look. So much for a squad with average players, according to some on here.

At this stage, I can't see how we can question Klopp's decision to move Firmino as a false 9.
He was brilliant. Pressing, incredibly work rate, creativity runs, flicks, link up play with Coutinho and Lallana.
Just look at Coutinho when he can play with a creative partner like Firmino up front.
Benteke doesn't offer the same running, work rate, movement, link-up play as Firmino.
I question whether Sturridge would have the same work rate, and if he did, he probably re-injures himself.
Firmino as false 9 masterstroke and was the right decision.

I thought Lovren was very solid tonight, won every header. Mignolet made one good save and one good sweeper keeper clearance apart from that you must expect pressure from Man City away and they didn't create many chances compared to us, Firmino should have at least had 1 more, Benteke could have scored with a chip or a low finish but overall the best Liverpool game since the 5-1 smashing of Arsenal. With Henderson, Sturridge and Sakho back the only way is up!
