Gutted for the result, we had our chances but we didn't take them, story of us for a long time. I thought overall we defended very well, and despite being Mignolet's fault for the first goal, but he did keep us in it in extra time. There wasnt enough from Midfield today, I thought our front 3 were pretty isolated, Sturridge looked not so sharp. I don't think you can blame the penatly takers too much, the saves were good, I thought Mignolet could have done better with 2 of the penalties. I couldn't understand why Origi and Sturridge wasnt taking penalties.
I felt we were there hoping to get a win rather than believing we could win like we di in past finals, even the fans were very quiet, was a different fanbase that was even in the Cardiff final a few years ago. I don't think will be the last time we will be in a final under Klopp though. IO just hope it won't affect us too abd for the rest of the season, we have a mouth watering europa league tie to look forward to. Feel bad for the lads, but a penalty shootout is a lottery at the end of the day, sadly today wasnt our day.

I never said I was proud of them, they were pretty bad in all areas, I can't see Mignolet or Moreno lasting past the summer to be honest. You have to look at the goals we concede, even going back to our title push, the goals can't be all the defence problem, some are ofcourse. I think back to when we had Reina at his peak, and yes while we had Carra who was immense, but our other defenders looked amazing too and we regularly got the golden glove. I think a good team and team confidence starts with the keeper. I think the defence don't trust Mignolet and maybe Mignolet trusts the defence. Or else the issue lays with the defence and goalkeeping coaches? Klopp will have his work cut out for him in the summer.
