Seems like every week that goes by their is a different opinion on benteke. In fairness to him, he did seem more up for it Sunday, and scored and won the penalty for us. If he continues like this, then good on him, maybe there is a place for him. However, it seems he doesn't think like most people, and when you factor in a lot of other performances, especially those two against Exeter, it suggests that he isn't going to keep up this style.
The way he ambles around the edge of the box, and doesn't try and get into the box, suggests a lack of confidence, whereas the way he took that penalty doesn't. Maybe he thinks he is entitled to play, no matter how hard he tries, or that he's used to be being the big fish in a small, Aston villa shaped pond? There's no doubt he can score, and has talent, and is good on the air, but he's missed a fair few big chances for us, does go anonymous in games and doesn't give his all (which is a minimum for me. ) Maybe he has turned a corner, but I doubt it personally, But I won't criticise him for trying his hardest to win a match, but we haven't seen this enough.
Regarding Jamie redknapps comments, how many strikers in the world could have been bought for 32 million? A fair few. Would they have scored more than benteke? Impossible to say. Would they have tried harder, probably. Especially with the way klopp wants to play, scoring isn't everything, if you have the attacking players all pressing, bar one, it allows the defending team out easily, which shouldn't happen. Look at Sunday again. Origi pressed the keeper, he kicked it without taking a touch, and firmino scored. Okay he slipped, but if origi didn't press, he would take a touch and not fluff the kick. Origi didn't score but the team did.

He will come good, he has desire. I have spoken! Watch this space. Isn't benteke still our top scorer for the season? Or is it milner or firmino?

Spot on, Fencey. As someone who played the poristion at a decent level, I can agree that for a striker, scoring isn`t everything. When I went into a game, I thought of having a great game and us winning, period. Did I want to score? of course. But I wanted to get involved in the game, work hard for the team and put us in a position to win by scoring or assisting. Benteke may be lacking that attitude, which is what Klopp requires from his strikers first and foremost because that`s what my coach wanted from me.
