Hi Eds.
I was wondering about you thoughts on something with regard to the types of players and leaders we need to target for the first team in the upcoming transfer window.

A few seasons ago I watched an interview with a current Liverpool player (who is now playing well) . He hadn't ripped up any trees in his first season and was talking about how it took him time to settle in to a new club and area etc etc etc.

It was a little frustrating to listen to as he wasn't a kid anymore. It made me think of Suarez and how as a younger man he moved from South America to a totally different culture and football world in Holland and thrived.
Firmino also thrived in Germany.
Both succeeded in countries that were very very different from their latin homes.
To me this shows a real mental toughness and desire to succeed, ie they are winners. Gunslingers if you will 😊.

As we need some more mentally tough players shouldn't this be a target for use now. South Americans who have moved out of their comfort zones and succeeded in Northern or Eastern European Leagues with a decent standard?

{Ed001's Note - you can't tell like that as they have a family around them that is just as important. They might not settle as their family is unhappy, rather than because they personally have any issues in the area.

What the club needs to do more is create a support network around them. I also believe that, particularly with new players, it is important to get players involved in community work for the club. Not just because it keeps them busy and out of trouble, and because it helps good causes, but also because it gives them a chance to build a connection with the club's fans.}

Like Sakho and his commitment to the clubs community work?

{Ed001's Note - not sure how that is relevant? He did not do anything like the amount I think a player should be doing, it is telling that people think he did a lot. It shows how spoilt the modern day player is that what he did is considered as outstanding.}
