If coutinho was to go for £120m and we invested that in VVD, keita, OX and luan I'd be more than happy with that, and I wouldn't see it making much an issue with the squad if he was to leave, play firmino in coutinho pos and Luan in firmino's.

Not sure about Luan, technically looks good but not convinced about his physicals.
He's 24, why has he not been snapped up before?
I'd rather Mahrez, Oxlade Chamberlain, Van Dijk and the Guinean if it can be pushed over the line this summer.

Mahrez is terrible, he's lazy and really not that good either, he's certainly nowhere near Pipco's ability and as for Ox, he's not fit to lace Pipco's boots. Would be repeating the mistakes of past transfer windows. It's the new Charlie Adam and Stewart Downing.

I would be happy with only VVD and Keita now. We will get our pants pulled down by RBL and Southampton but there is going to be a backlash from the fans and a dressing room reeling from the departure of our star player. This sends out the wrong signal to the other players who may think LFC are indeed a selling club and we may face a similar situation next season with Mane or Firmino. That is why its important to bring in Keita and VVD now. Both have big reputations, targeted by big clubs and Klopp clearly sees them as taking the team to a new level.
Maybe its time to bite the bullet and pay up (even if the fees are obscene) and get those two deals over the line whilst also apologizing to the selling clubs for misbehaviour on LFC's part.

Mahrez, if happy, is one of the best players in the league and I think he'd be so grateful to play in the CL he'd been awesome but where would he fit? Rather have a mahrez than AOC in the squad, granted different positions but who would you rather bring off the bench or replace mane or salah if injured? I am not advocating chasing mahrez or saying he's priority but I'd like him in a red shirt.
{Ed001's Note - I would rather have Kent than either to come off the bench. Makes no sense to spend millions on players for the bench.}

Exactly Ed001. Luan, Mahrez, AOC are not better than Mane or Salah. Keita though has to happen now. Coutinho's designated replacement and who Klopp wants so the club needs to now do what it takes to sign him.

Mahrez is a damn good player.
His record and history in the PL should show that.
Hyypia was taken from Finland and we took him from a Dutch club so he was noticed.
I'm not saying Luan is or isn't good enough, only stating how he looks to me from the little I've seen of him. What are his strengths or weaknesses then Davey? What were your favourite performances of his last season or the ones before? Does he have a good weaker foot? Who would you liken his ability to? Please feel free to share your insights mate.

Mahrez had one good season and then nothing. He's certainly not one of the best players in the league, and certainly not good enough to replace Pipco as he's not a number 10.

One good title winning season. Yeah he doesn't usually play as a number 10 as you say but a player with his attributes can easily adapt and learn the role. He would cost less than half of Coutinho's cost as well. Remember Alonso? He had a poor season but what happened the next season. he was outstanding and got a move to Real Madrid. Point is, one bad or good season doesn't define a talented player. He is talented. He's also in an average team. Would Coutinho have won the league with Leicester?
