The penny dropped a long time ago, were you not aware of that? The players he is playing with are no longer those he wants, per Ed01. He brought in Matip as a stop gap (Ed01's info) until he found the right CB he wanted. He found it in VVD and unfortunately, that got messed up. He still wants VVD but it's not going to happen right now and buying another stop gap is pointless so we have to move on.
