if there is genuine interest perhaps he would rotate the deep lying role with Fabihno? ( one more defensive and the other more offensive) when Fabs is out, henderson is the one that usually has to drop in to cover which takes away from his normal role in the side which he does so well. so i guess from that perspective it makes sense to have someone that can dictate a game from a deep position. my 2 cents lol.

OP if you are referring to Thiago, not sure he is a DM like Fab is and we don’t play with a DLP either so Klopp may be trying to sign him to play another role, IMO.
