Oh wow, I just saw the Bamford "offside".

It's amazing. I think this might actually be a conscious effort by PMGOL to get VAR scrapped.

shocking decision, why can it not be as simple as using the feet as the game is called FOOTball after all, all these finger, arm pit or backside offside decisions is just plain stupid, stupid and I will say it again stupid.

It’s simpler then that king, they need to stop turning it into an etch a sketch and stop using lines. No one would of called that offside, to make it worse their not even looking across the line to see the decision.

If there going to do that they need the equivalent of the hare in dog racing to follow the action. I’m adamant you can’t get the right answer from taking the picture on an angle it’s the equivalent of those optical illusions.

You can add the Westham goal to that as well. A player who is miles offside who then interferes with the play and the goal is given. Nothing is surprising anymore!

Sorry lads got to disagree regards the west ham goal it's not an offence just to be in an offside position you either have to get the ball or actively trying to get the ball which the forward pulled out of trying to get the ball but as for bamford goal it should have stood because any part of your body which you can score a goal with counts as offside not your finger VAR is slowly killing g the game opinions please but be gentle.

I do understand the logic of "any part of his body he can score with" to a degree.

But since they're going to the trouble of looking at the replay frame by frame and using an electron microscope to see was he offside, why not go the extra step and measure it from the part of his body that he actually scored with? Not the top of his arm that he could have scored with, but didn't.

Bamford was denied a goal because he pointed to where he wanted a team mate to put the ball. It's so absurd that if you had told someone 3 years ago that this would happen they would've had you committed to the looney bin.

I don't often agree with Lineker but last night he said "once the dots come out its over, get rid of the dots. Level at worst". I can't wait for a player to score with the top of his arm and for it to be disallowed, wrong under the new rule, but disallowed none the less.

Hunter I agree its not an offence to be standing offside but if you watch that west ham goal the offside player makes an attempt for the ball just doesn't get there. It forces a hurried clearance which leads to the goal. You don't agree mate?

08 Nov 2020 15:00:28
No mate sorry I don't agree law 5 says in the opinion of the referee everybody has an opinion afterwards but not the guts to do the course and referee an actual game then they will realise as to how hard it actually is.

No doubt it's not an easy game to ref at all. The speed which things happen make it very difficult but for me the player is in an offside position and he influences the clearance. Respect your view and that's what this site is about. Another call that bothers me is when a player is offside and not deemed "active" yet a keeper has to wait to the ball has cleared that player before reacting. That is the last time I will defend keepers lol.
