Ed001, have you watched Ben davies before? If so what is your opinion of him regarding his strengths or weaknesses and how will he fit in our playing style. he seems to be playing well in championship for a while. So maybe joining liverpool may take him to next phase in development and hope he turns out to be good for us and stake a claim not just as ordinary backup but for starting berth. it is really satisfying when someone under the radar joins and turns out to be better than expected like robbo. hope davies becomes another one like him.

{Ed001's Note - not really watched him, I did watch some games of his to watch someone else but I was not really watching him. What did stand out was that he was good on the ball but struggled with the ball in the air.}

The good thing is that he is left footed which allows him to work a good relationship with Robbo and does not have to always check back inside. Don't know much about him so any info anyone has on him is welcome. I will say that since VDB went the other way (something that was already on the cards), it could mean that we were already scouting him for a while before we pulled the trigger.

I spoke to an old friend last night who follows PNE, he said he was brilliant in the air and composed with it at his feet, he certainly can't understand the underwhelming BBC write up about him at all, apparently all their fans think he's more than ready for a step up.
Lers hope so.
