I like Bissouma i think he’s good but i’m not sure he’s exactly what we need, we need a midfielder who can get goals, maybe even 2. Our midfielders have scored FOUR PL goals this season. For context City have 28, United have 25, West Ham 23, Leicester 17, Everton 16, Chelsea 15, Southampton 14, Villa 11, Leeds 11,

Think Bissouma would be a great addition. Can cover the holding role and play the box to box role.
I would like to see us add a creative CM that can contribute with goals and assists, Rodrigo de Paul has been linked, not sure if we’ve shown any interest (Ed’s? ) but he’d be a solid addition alongside Bissouma. If Gini, Keita, Ox/ Milner leave.

Not really the job of our midfield to get the goals, but create the chances for the front 3 to score goals. Them other teams are set up different to us.

Our midfield hasn’t really been creating goals either. Or protecting the defenders. In fact it is hard to work out what function our midfield is serving at the moment other than just making up the numbers.

West Brom 11, Newcastle 11, Wolves 10, Burnley 7, Brighton 7, Palace 6, Spurs 5. Almost every team has more contribution from midfield. I think a lot of it is down to Klopp, he could have Xavi and Iniesta and he’d have them covering for the full backs when they go forward. Let’s say we get Bissouma, between him Henderson, Thiago and Fabinho i wouldn’t have more than 2 on the pitch together at once. We need a Bruno/ Maddison/ Mount type like Nkunku or even a Gundogan/ Ramsey type like Aouar (he’d be my pick) He’s scored 7 less than Gundogan but his xG is 0.7 higher and he has 1.24 shots more per game. He’s slightly less involved in buildup but 8 years younger in a team with 7.7% less possession than City per game.

For me I never buy into the 'we need more goals' argument. Last season City outscored us by 17 goals and had 15 goals better Goal difference. Yet we creamed them in the league.

End of the day, we need to bring in the right players the bring out the best in how we play, that wins the most points. Somehow we did it last season despite being well outscored. And we did it easily.

Bissouma, fills a need for the engine. Young, energetic, good ball winner and is technical enough to just not be a one dimensional player. He will slot in well if we are going to lose Gini, Keita and as Milner potentilly fades.
