Hi Eds, hope your well. Maybe a joint answer here for Eds 011 and 002. From a money and footballing point do you see a scenario where salah leaves and mane switches wing?

{Ed001's Note - yes, but only because it feels like he is deliberately dragging out talks to leave the club, possibly. Only he will know if he really wants to stay or go though, it is just a feeling.}

Agree0 Disagree0

100% Ed. In my opinion he wants to leave. He's come back to the Premier league with "unfinished business". He's absolutely destroyed it and fancies a new challenge somewhere else. He's also an extremely clever guy who knows if he trots out the "up to the club, they know what to do" that some fans will blame the owners even if he himself has no interest or desire to stay.

Salah has only 2 options left, Madrid or PSG. With Madrid probably signing 2 very very expensive players that only leaves PSG. I reckon he stays because he has run out of options. Plus we should go very deep in the CL this year and he will realise that his best chance to win it for the second or hopefully third time is to stay at LFC.

Firmino will leave imo, he won’t get game time going forward.

I read somewhere that Paris is one of the dream destination for many Muslims because of their community. Plus they would happily meet whatever wages Salah wanted and they will be looking for that big signing If Messi and Mbappe leave in the next 6-18 months.

If Salah wants to go out there to get paid twice as much money, make his family happier and play in an easier league in his later years. Then can we really hold that against him.

{Ed0666's Note - I’ve been saying it for a long time. Salah & PSG seem like a great fit especially Mbappe is probably going and Qatari & Egyptian political relations have much improved. Oh and of course JK your correct there’s an immense amount of Muslim populous in Paris which is important to Salah and there’s no doubt he’ll be on an eye watering amount of cash. If he goes good luck to him. Who can begrudge him?

All fair points. If we replace Salah with Saka I wouldn’t mind too much as he’s one for the future whereas Salah is one for now.

We could even recycle the Salah song but just insert Saka instead ;)

What a step down, I just can’t see it. Very very little chance of winning the CL if he goes to Paris.

If he went to PSG then he'd probably be guaranteed a couple of trophies a season and more likely the Ballon D'or being in France to be fair.

Really hope he stays though!

Saka did an interview the other day and said that Arsenal was always the club he wanted. Doubtful he'll want to quit and come here at this stage of his career.

I'm sure Gini will not give a raving review of the harmony in the PSG squad. Like Salah said money is not his only motivator. He's loved and fits in so well at our club and that has to amount to something. I see Barcelona or Real as the only likely suitors should he leave. Can see Mane moving back to the right. Hope he stays but don't want to break the bank. Life will go on w or wout Mo or any other player. Diaz fitted in seamlessly so far. There's more out there.

Tbh as long as we get good money for Salah and can buy a decent replacement I wouldn’t be overly upset if he left. Given us great service and won it all and not going to get any better now. Rather Klopp has to deal with replacing him while we are able to get some money for a replacement than a new manager having to replace him when he’s 34 and we get no fee for him.

Ed06666 Salah is on £200k a week to replace him the new player would want to be on around the same wage and to find a player that guarantees you 20+ league goals a season is going to be very hard to find and would cost a packet.
If we we give Mo £400k that’s around an extra £10m a year so if we give Mo a 3 year Extension that’s £40m for nearly a guaranteed 20 league goals. Got to get Mo to sign he come on for 30 minutes the other night and after playing 120 minutes 3 times in the last week and had that disappointment he still looked a class above.

It would certainly be interesting to see how Liverpool would go about replacing Salah. Would they go for a direct replacement or use it as an opportunity to change the system? It's hard to see them replacing that sheer amount of goals from a right winger with the players that could currently become available on the market. Could they perhaps go for a central forward should Salah leave?

Maybe Salah has been replaced already. That Diaz guy looks pretty tasty and he was supposed to arrive in summer when there was potentially a hole in our front line.
