Hello ed1.we had discussion few weeks ago about whether liverpool where playing a bit within themselves to conserve energy or was the games catching up with them. I thought last nite the tempo was much quicker than has been recently. Did you see game yet and if you did, did you think the same?

{Ed001's Note - I haven't seen it and I probably won't get a chance mate sorry.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Never mind anything else lads HA HA HA Everton. must be getting near the championship now surely.

{Ed0666's Note - still think they won’t go down but they have made it difficult for themselves with their difficult run in

06 Apr 2022 21:31:53
They are going down. No more games in hand against burnley. Lose to UTD and they are done.

06 Apr 2022 21:32:51
A suppose more chance of seeing Lord lucan surly Frank is now being found out he is not does not the man for the job being nice does not mean being successful.

Have to say tonight could be the night Everton effectively got relegated, massive 6 pointer! Momentum well and truely with Burnley and a run in that looks horrific for Everton with some really tough games, Burnley have experience in relegation scraps and know what it takes to survive and fight to the last game and I don’t know if Everton have the characters in their dressing room to dig in and fight!

I refuse to laugh at their plight I don't want the bad karma, but their situation looks bleak and I'm not sure where they go from here. Richarlisons reaction after the game gave an insight into the mood in the camp, they knew this was a do or die game and they now have Dyche chasing them in their usual escape mode.

{Ed0666's Note - Richarlson never gave up the fight for them today I was impressed with his tenacity.

Don't see Everton staying up now.

It's not purely their position. It's that of the 25 points they have, 19 were scored with Rafa as manager and 14 of those were in the first seven games of the season.

They're in the worst rut of anyone in the division and Lampard doesn't appear to have the tools to get them out of it. They're on course to finish on something like 30 points.

The only hope they have is that Burnley stuff results up.

06 Apr 2022 21:31:46
Ed001 seeing as we lost to Inter, do you feel able to watch the games again now?

{Ed001's Note - not yet, no. Plus it is not so easy at the moment anyway.}

06 Apr 2022 21:49:04
I'd agree ed0666, but the fact he was slumped on the floor after shows where their minds are at.

{Ed0666's Note - he’s deflated it’s a natural reaction mate. I’d be the same he put so much effort in and came away with zilch. Gotta feel for the guy.

06 Apr 2022 22:00:55
Everton have a mare of a run in!
Think it’s curtains for them!

06 Apr 2022 22:06:13
I had a look at Burnleys run in, Norwich and Watford away could bag them 4 points and Saints and Wolves at home may bag them another 4 points - I do not see where Everton would get another 7 points in their run in.

Apart from the run in, one thing you can say about Burnley is that they are very resilient and have been here before many times which I cannot say about Everton. This will be a massive stain on Lampard's CV as a manager, I don't think he will recover from this taking Everton down.

06 Apr 2022 22:09:56
It’s basically a head to head with Burnley now for Everton. They just need to match or better Burnley’s points in the last 9 games which I just don’t see them doing given the games they have left. Leeds aren’t out of it but I expect them to get enough points with their recent upturn.
I’ve enjoyed Everton’s plight this season but never actually thought they’d go down. Now I think they are more likely to go down than stay up.
At least we won’t have to worry about players getting injured in the derby for a few years.

06 Apr 2022 22:24:14
I never want to see Everton go down- because it’s great for football these matches, but I can’t help feel our injury record might improve without having to play them twice a year.

06 Apr 2022 23:33:09
Agreed Aoe, I watched their match tonight with one of my best friends who's a die hard Blue who honestly me to shame as a supporter of his club and it was haunting. It's all a laugh when we're both the upper end of the table but in our current circumstances it's difficult to watch a friend experience this.

City rivalries aside, I'd always much rather have Liverpool clubs and. to an extent. North West clubs, at the top of the pyramid and I truly hope they pull it out of the bag.

07 Apr 2022 00:37:16
They only have themselves to blame scouse. They’ve been singing from the rooftops since Moshiri came in at how there’s a shift in power and how they will buy the best players etc etc.
What’s actually happened is they’ve completely lost their identity. They are no longer the passionate club with passionate fans that are a nightmare to play against. They are a rich idiots play thing and he has taken them right down the toilet.
Be careful what you wish for.

07 Apr 2022 07:02:54
I don't care if they go down or not tbh, they are irrelevant to us. If they do then they will deserve it. They have been total garbage all season. I would have a little laugh walking past their ground on match days though I must admit. Lol. I'm just focusing on liverpool and praying we win every game.

{Ed025's Note - it’s not like Liverpool to be so selfish and horrible Marty. Oh yeah it is which is why Liverpool are universally disliked and are an embarrassment to the city..

07 Apr 2022 10:15:03
Imagine now, the positions reversed.
Imagine the gracious, considerate, compassionate views from Bluenoses if Liverpool were this bad.

I don't believe I know a single Evertonian, who would exhibit one solitary iota of concern.

I recently sent that picture of the bolt cutters in a glass case to my oldest friend of 47 years. She is a die-hard, season ticket holder. She messaged me back saying that I was an armchair fan, that she didn't have time for me and that she wasn't interested in the fact I have literally been to hundreds of matches in my life at Anfield and away, from the age of 7. I struggle to get to matches now, fair enough, but I can't afford it anymore and even if I could, I can't get tickets readily.
So over a light-hearted joke, she has essentially fu*ked me off as a friend.

Bitter and petty frankly.

07 Apr 2022 11:17:54
Have to say I agree baked bean. It would be just the same, it's mostly banter but there is no doubt they would be loving it and rubbing it in at every opportunity. Ed25 is sound as a pound and I was only joking but to say Everton fans would be any different is a stretch imo.

07 Apr 2022 16:03:13
Ed25. I hope I didn't cause offence. you know how much I think of you. Now I seem to be getting ignored 🙁.

{Ed033's Note - Why are you using 2 usernames? Please stick to MartyMcFly1.

07 Apr 2022 16:12:59
Right because Everton fans booing a player for recovering from a substantial injury which was caused by one of their players is such a great advert for the city. Everyone is capable of nastiness.

Still 25 I hope you guys don't go down. I'm not from Liverpool or even England but I went to quite a traditional school with some long standing (100 year plus) rivalries with two other schools. We had derby style sports days with those schools and they were always brilliant. I'd imagine the Liverpool Everton derby is similair or probably bigger for most Liverpool locals and I'd hate to lose that. In any case 25 it's not over yet and I think the team needs your unapologetic optimism going into their run. Good luck.

07 Apr 2022 13:18:39
If I offended ed25 with my original post then I apologise. I don't think I was personally offensive but still offer my apology.

{Ed025's Note - it was not offensive marty but I would say it was not nice mate. The vitriol between both sets of supporters these days really saddens me mate. I happen to be one of those who was cheering when you won the CL and want us both to do well for the sake of the city more than anything else. I may sound like an auld arse but in my day nobody in the city fought over football and especially scousers who have blues and reds within their families. I always go back to the 80,s finals where we all sung and drank together regardless of the result. Mind you if Liverpool had lost both finals I’m not sure what would have happened to be honest mate..

07 Apr 2022 18:30:44
I agree eds, I remember those days mate and sat with blues etc. They were the days but sadly some idiots have ruined that. Probably the younger generation. Ed33. I didn't mean to use 2 names, it kicked me out and I couldn't remember my password and it was an old email address so couldn't reset it. I'll stick to the one now mate. Cheers.

{Ed033's Note - Thanks.
