Martinez has played 21 times in two years, lots of mileage in him still. At 27 needs to be playing regularly. Could be an astute signing. But we have Lucas to play the Defensive midfielder/ centre back position. Also we have Stewart. Surely we should spend the money elsewhere? I really don't see any legs to this rumour. But then again I believe in Santa and Essex is the cultural capital of the world so don't listen to me.

{Ed001's Note - I would love Javi Martinez, one of my favourite current players. If it was up to me, we would have bought him a couple of seasons before he went to Bayern. I can't see them letting him go when they have a shortage of centre backs, one is only there on loan. Guardiola has not built from the back there, letting the defensive options become extremely limited.}
