Ed002, huge apology if this has been answered previously but there is so much written on here about Coutinho, Barcelona, LFC, etc, it makes a search almost impossible.
Have Barcelona contacted Liverpool and asked for permission to talk to Coutinho about a move to Spain?
Thanks in advance.

{Ed002's Note - They have been in discussions with Liverpool but I am not aware they have permission to talk with the player.}

Didn't the bid get turned down? So id guess until liverpool accept a bid they won't be able to speak to him directly?

{Ed002's Note - Unless they give permission.}

Thanks Ed002. Does that mean that paper talk of Barcelona agreeing a deal with the player are wide of the mark? Or is there some truth in that they have agreed with his agent?

Not probing about tapping up here, just asking whether there is progress with the player/ his reps to gauge how far advanced things are?

I know you're not a betting man, but would I be correct in saying a transfer out of the club for Coutinho is more of a possibility now than it was a week or more ago?

{Ed002's Note - I suspect his agent has oversetepped the mark. I expect Liverpool to resist any sale.}

Thanks Ed002. Based on reading the paper reports that are flying around, I'm really pleased that your assessment coincides with mine, as mine is based mainly on hope!

I think you mentioned a couple of days ago that the likely outcome of this issue is that we get one more year of Couts a la Suarez in 13/ 14.

Lets hope that extra year gives us as much excitement as 13/ 14, but with perhaps a slightly better outcome!

Revised expectations for this window? I think we'll keep Couts, get VVD, keep Can and not get Keita. On balance, I would be very happy with that.

Hi Ed2, thanks for all your updates. This site is always the place I visit to find out the latest transfer news. Liverpool have been meeting with Barcelona to discuss Coutinho on more than one occasion. In my opinion, if Liverpools stance is he's not for sale, why do they even bother having the meetings? By meeting them, I think we're encouraging them to put a bid in and indicating to the player the club will consider selling him. Also this is distracting the club from working on incoming deals. Is my point of view naive?

{Ed002's Note - It is business as usual. Clubs meet with other to discuss players joining and leaving.}
