I had no internet service for 4 days (government barring due to social unrest) . I install broadband wifi today, click on this page and bingo. The news about Salah. Amazing. And the right thing to do, for both sides. Maybe Salah wants that statue outside Anfield after all. ?.

Aray. No internet due to social unrest? If u don't mind me asking what is all that about? Yes great news on salah, thought he was gone tbh. With him having this summer off and break next winter with world cup on he should be flying next season.

Digger10, I understand your curiosity but I know the Eds will not appreciate me going into detail, and I shouldn't. This isn't the place for it. All I will say is that there was some social violence and the state government shut down the internet to stop spreading of videos and rumours etc, which always inflame things further. This is India. They shut down the internet during statewide exams (so people don't cheat via internet messages)

I think it's clear that the Salah extension was decided sometime ago; given it's announced on the day the window opens. It also explains the haste with which Mane left too, in my mind. Mane was never going to get Salah level wages (and I don't think he minded that much), but I suspect he wanted the chance to be top man, elsewhere. All top level athletes are super competitive; even in team sports. And with this extension Salah is definitely top man at the club.

I think we have strengthened for next season. Even though we may not go and get a Fabinho backup. I think Thiago and Hendo have at least 1-2 years left in them still on the main stage, so we could see Jones, Elliott and Carvalho develop and also see what they'e made of. I will not say anything about the K word, LOL. What does everyone think?

Aray. I didn't mean to prey I just had never heard of that before. I didn't know you from India, fascinating country although I've never been to it.
I'd say your right as regards mane/ salah contracts, when you see it all played out, mane would like to be the main man like he is with senegal. For me a new midfielder is essential this summer.

I'm really pleased with this summer ArAy. We now get to see Salah, Nunez, Diaz, Jota, Firmino, Elliott, Jones and Carvalho tear up all 4 competitions. Neil Jones reported recently that the murmurs around the club are that we could see a 4-4-2 or 4-2-3-1 more this season. If that means we can get 4 of those 8 attackers on the pitch at once, then i think we're in for a seriously exciting and entertaining season.

I'm actually not bothered about Fabinho cover. The way i see it we have Fabinho, Hendo, Thiago, Milner, Keita and Morton (6 players) for 2 positions in a lot of games, possibly 3 positions in others.

There is however the enigma that is Oxlade-Chamberlain. He doesn't seem to quite fit as either a midfielder or a forward since his injury. I would say we should let him move on and maybe go get Otavio or Asensio but that's just me being greedy and also you can't force someone to leave. Who knows, maybe he'll bounce back this season and be the player we saw in his first season again.

In the backline we now have 2 wing backs for both sides who suit our unique style of play. Additionally we have 4 centre backs who would start for any team outside the top 2.

The depth from front to back is now at such a point that we could field 2 separate teams on the same day and both would be capable of beating just about anyone outside the top 6. I have absolutely no concerns except maybe a 3rd keeper but hopefully Harvey Davies or Marcelo Pitaluga can step up.

Also, congratulations to Quansah and Chambers on playing key roles in the squad as England u19's won the Euros. I think Quansah has flown under the radar a bit but he is proving to be a huge talent who could (fingers crossed) save us a lot of money when Matip's time comes to an end in the not too distant future.

I am itching for the season to kick off now! Another run at the Quad please, Jurgen!

I think that's the plan ArAy to keep Hendo, Fab and Thiago as the 3 main starters but to give Jones and Elliott the season to fill in and develop, really take their chance. Could def be a big season for both tbh and I think Carvalho will get chances too, just not sure where his best position is yet.

I agree with you MK. I suppose we could continue with Hendo backing up Fabinho, but I've always preferred Hendo in the #8 role. Far more use of his passing and distribution skills. And he makes a greater impact on the game.

I'm very excited about the season too. The big question mark for me is Nunez, and when will he be able to deliver on all the high expectations? I'm hoping that we don't have to go through the 3-6 month adaptation for him (that Robertson and Fabinho went through) . That's two seasons now that we have lost out by 1 point, I want us to snatch the lead from the first day and take it all the way through the season.

Bill, if we're not going to add a forward then we'll be left with 5 - Salah, Nunez, Diaz, Jota and Firmino. I think Carvalho will be asked to support these 5 and fill in whenever required. He may not end up there in the long term, but that's possibly where he could start his LFC career.

Digger 10, I agree with you on the need for a midfielder. But the squad will be ballooning if Keita or Ox, or both, don't make way. But it's a difficult one because Klopp seems to be okay with Keita being around and Ox always has that home-grown joker card in hand.
