Hello all,

A bit of good and the bad tonight.

Arne Slot's position is NOT safe, the club WILL make change if necessary.

Second.

I won't indulge in Akira's smart arse 'Ta'ing' and making me look bad, I would however, advise said person to grow up and have a little more respect for others.

I say this because.

I have love for a fellow poster I think a lot for on this site and respect the opinion of.

Anyway .

Options are big, some are crazy but the realism is there. We have some BIG options.

Klopp and Stevie are waiting in the wings. A mad thought, Inzaghi would jump right this second if we made a change.

Alonso I maintain will be manager at some point, sooner rather than later?

Lastly. Let's hope Slot gets it right.

Ta.

{Ed001's Note - ignore akira, he is a bullshitter of the highest order.}

29 Oct 2025 22:53:49
Appreciate you everything you post Carra. Some people are just very jealous of you clearly.

29 Oct 2025 22:55:44
Thanks carra, you’re the only ITK I listen to. And you too Ed01.

29 Oct 2025 22:55:58
Thanks buddy. Whatever it is, I want some pride and joy of football back!

29 Oct 2025 23:00:02
I would have Jurgen back in a ❤️ beat.

He would sort this out no worries and with this squad it would only be exciting!

29 Oct 2025 23:03:17
Thanks Carra. In your opinion, do you think Slot is trying his best to get the sack? I know it's a bit of a random question, but from how he managed things last season, to the way he is this season, are like chalk and cheese. He's the complete opposite.

29 Oct 2025 23:05:48
Nice one Carra
Klopp or Inzaghi would be great.
We lose next three he’s gone.
Sad because I love slot but the team is a mess and I can’t see him turning it around.

29 Oct 2025 23:06:09
Unfortunately my early optimism thay things would improve have gone.

Would love a reinvigorated Klopp to come in.
But I'd also be surprised if it happened.

Ed001 and Carra. What do you think the most likely scenario is if The decision is made to remove Slot, and who do believe would be good long term solution.

{Ed001's Note - I would expect Hughes to go get Iraola. All the signings in the summer were tailor made for Iraola's style of play.}

29 Oct 2025 23:07:06
Cheers Carra. I’d hope we steer clear of Gerrard, he’d be a disaster.

29 Oct 2025 23:08:25
Slot let the glue slip which was Heitinga. More could’ve been done to keep him.

Fundamentally, that has become a very large part of Slots problem this season.

I don’t see an easy way back.

Ta.

29 Oct 2025 23:10:12
Eds, can any of you confirm Klopp is ready to return? This is not anything I am aware of.

{Ed001's Note - not that I am aware of and his missus wouldn't be happy.}

29 Oct 2025 23:17:14
Cheers Carra ?

I don’t know how I feel about Alonso, he burnt a few bridges with me by snubbing us for Madrid.
No second chance for him. He blew it.

Gerrard - definitely not. Incredible footballer, not a manager.

Klopp - What’s changed? He was burnt out, now he’s 2 years older and ready to go again.

It’s another “no” from me.

Inzaghi - don’t know how he’ll manage in the premier league, no previous experience as player or manager.

I’d rather let Slot play it out than go for an interim. This season has been a total disaster and should be written off. Without a decent pre-season I don’t see anyone turning it around quicker than Slot. Certainly not an interim, who’s going to play for an interim manager? No-one will be pulling up any trees for an interim manager.

See the season out, take your time and make the right appointment.

Act in haste, repent at leisure.

29 Oct 2025 23:18:01
We are signing Remi "MOSES"- he is going to lead us out of the "WILDERNESS"

29 Oct 2025 23:26:14
? ? ??.

29 Oct 2025 23:33:25
I have love for you too Carra but this probably isn’t the time.

29 Oct 2025 23:33:35
Thanks ed001

Do you think we should go and get Iraola. Or who would be your preference of realistic options.
Im starting to believe a change is needed.

{Ed001's Note - Iraola would be my choice if Slot was sacked.}

29 Oct 2025 23:35:27
Surely the club wouldn't consider Gerrard as anything other than a few week's worth of a stop gap?

29 Oct 2025 23:36:12
Thanks again Carra - really appreciate the info.

I hope Slot can turn this round, but if he can’t, i think Inzaghi and Iraola will likely be the front-runners. Either would be a good choice imo.

29 Oct 2025 23:36:47
Cheers, Carra.

I still feel that Slot can turn this around. I back his decision today.

The next 11 days are massive.

29 Oct 2025 23:43:57
Damn you Thunderbird. That would have been my joke.

Now I'm just stuck here with nothing funny to say.

Look away will ye.

Nothing to see here.

I got nothing!

29 Oct 2025 23:54:00
I don’t think Slot is going to turn it round. If there was going to be a turn around it would have happened two or three games ago. Villa will know how to set up against us and get a result and Slot will have no answer. There’s been no sign of any improvement or progress.

30 Oct 2025 00:00:47
Iraola is my only one choice if or when Slot waves goodbye, no one else seems to fit,
Maybe slot knows his time is up, at least he can go back to his family,
Its been really difficult watching our team go thru tough times,
But the cream will always come to the Top.

30 Oct 2025 00:07:34
I think Slot is playing checkers while his opponents are playing chess. Not sure he quite knows what to do. Feel for the guy but it looks hopeless.

30 Oct 2025 00:12:05
Cara’s the man.

30 Oct 2025 00:14:26
Ignore Akira Carra. I noticed his passive aggressiveness in his recent posts, which I thought was uncalled for.

Anyways appreciate you passing on what you know. Cheers.

30 Oct 2025 00:20:53
Always had a feeling that "Akira 20 times" wasn't the same Akira that called out the transfers of Gakpo and Diaz before anyone else. What Ed001 said just confirmed my suspicions.

Anyway, thanks for the info Carra. It is a relief to hear that the management of the club are willing to make the hard decisions if push comes to shove and that they have alternative names already lined up. As many have mentioned here, this season's Slot is night and day from last season's Slot. And it explains a lot of Heitinga is the main factor for that.

Iraola would be my first choice too, similar to Ed001. What he has done at Bournemouth is miraculous and I'd love to see what he can do at a bigger club like ours with more resources.

30 Oct 2025 01:18:03
I don't know whether Cara reads this post but again don't take others jibe. You have truly replaced Macca/ ed002 on giving info on transfers and other important news. You are more welcome by many. There will be always someone mock you. So don't take them seriously.

{Ed078's Note - replacing Ed002? Don't think that's possible.

30 Oct 2025 02:04:36
Definitely not Ed002 stg.

30 Oct 2025 04:33:28
Don't think he meant it that way lads, just came out wrong as he was trying to tell Carra we appreciate him. I'm sure he knows Ed2 can't be replaced.

{Ed078's Note - we know, just can't let a chance to honour the man go by :)

30 Oct 2025 05:19:40
Iraola is a good manager, would be intrigued by fabregas too.

Honestly though the dressing room looks unhappy I’d be happy with any change.

30 Oct 2025 05:58:23
Cheers Carra for the info. Slot definitely lost the plot and we need a change now to save the season
Up the champs.

30 Oct 2025 06:06:45
Thanks for the info Carra ?.

29 Oct 2025 23:42:35
What’s your opinion of Phil McNulty Ed001?

Asked earlier today in a Q&A if Slot is at risk of being sacked even if the next couple of games don’t go well, his reply “not a chance” “Liverpool is not the sort of club to panic, even if the next sequence of results go badly”

This exact time last year Man City lost 9 games in a 9 week period, Bluemoon was full of posters saying Pep had to go, and there were a few ITK’s saying he was hanging on by his fingernails. Over in the Discussion Posts a poster asked anyone to name any other manager so diabolical with such a good squad at his disposal, answer: Pep Guardiola.

Of course Pep isn’t a diabolical manager, last Nov/ Dec MC just got into a rut, at times Pep looked like he was close to a breakdown, face all scratched, but their Board held their nerve. I would like to think Carra knows what he/ she is talking about, I just don’t see LFC owners panicking and pulling the trigger. Klopp said he would have understood if he got sacked at the end of 23 season, the team were flat, but the Board stayed true, and things improved.
Wirtz could have gone to pretty much any club of his choosing, he chose LFC after meeting Slot, he has to be given time to gel this new team together.

I am disappointed with recent results, but more disappointed with the nutters who suddenly think the guy who won the premiership 6 months ago has suddenly become useless, and the vitriol now being written about him. It now seems supporters have reached the point where they think winning is a right when money is spent. I’ve said it before, these new players are young, they will need time to blend into a cohesive team, when they do, they’ll be kicking ass and taking names.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know McNulty to have an opinion of him, sorry.}

30 Oct 2025 06:39:55
Things just seem to be going from bad to worse slot transformation into ten harg is nearly complete.
I would love Klopp back but I can’t see it myself, Iraola would be my first choice but I feel it needs doing soon before the season is lost.

I wonder if he we come now or want to see out his contract. Gerrard would be ok as interim if he had the right staff behind but if that happens and he turns it around from where we are now wins a cup and finishes top 4 how would you replace him.

30 Oct 2025 07:00:39
I meant info on Liverpool transfer. Sorry if it offended anyone.

30 Oct 2025 07:28:01
Appointing Stevie as the coach of our U-21s would be the wrong choice, never mind the first team. He turned down the Rangers job because he wouldn't be given the keys to the kingdom in terms of choosing players to buy. Last time he won the league with Rangers, they spent loads on players with big contracts, not all of them were up to snuff and when Stevie left for a bigger job the club were hamstrung by a squad of mixed quality that he had asked for making big money.

30 Oct 2025 07:32:44
Hi Carra, I registered for the site as I wanted to ask whether you think the club would go for Emery?
I like Iraola but I think Emery has done a great job at Villa also.

It does appear to me Heitinga is a huge loss and GVB does very little. no communication on the bench between Slot and GVB from what I can see ?‍♂️ most odd.

30 Oct 2025 07:42:50
Phil McNulty tweeted something extremely derogatory about us not long ago then claimed his phone was “hacked” that’s all you need to know about him. The man absolutely hates Liverpool FC and his opinion is worthless.

Slot hasn’t “suddenly become useless” and to frame legitimate criticism as an overreaction is bordering on toxic positivity. Since winning the league our drop off in quality has been very evident and has now become very extreme, this season in particular we’ve repeatedly played poorly, with that poor form being papered over by very lucky wins. I can only think of one match where we kept a clean sheet, other than that there has been a constant theme of being weak and lacking adequate numbers / quality in midfield, being tactically inept and conceding soft goals far too regularly, and throughout this period there has been no sign of improvement or that it’s going to change, yesterday was an opportunity to start to draw a line under it, but instead we threw the match and our further doubt into the minds of the squad that Slot is capable of turning this around, he cannot afford anything less than a comfortable win and a clean sheet against Villa, the likelihood of it actually happening is very slim though as there’s evidently no confidence in the team and we’ll likely set up the same way we have every other match this season.

30 Oct 2025 08:55:32
I wonder if Enrique is happy playing week-to-week in a farmers league. If he truly wants to test himself at the highest level, LFC is the job for him.

Klopp has been very clear about how much he enjoys his new lifestyle and he looks a lot healthier and happier than he did, so for those reasons i do not see any scenario where he comes back, not now or ever.

Zidane would command the respect of the players, that is certain, but does he fancy a stint in L4?

Arne complaining about squad depth following a 460m splurge - does this suggest he didn't choose the players or is it just more whining and making excuses?

Stevie G would make a good mascot / cheerleader but he is no manager, even in the desert.

30 Oct 2025 09:26:30
We'll probably now beat Villa, Real Madrid and Man City and then go on to lose against Not Forest, PSV and West Ham.

30 Oct 2025 10:23:02
Take Klopp back in a heartbeat if he went back to heavy metal football. Imagine him with this talent in the team.

30 Oct 2025 10:26:40
Ed1 would the pick of iraola be because you think he is one of the best around or because he would fit good with the squad and hughes? I realise it can be both?.

{Ed001's Note - it is both mate. I think he is a fantastic coach and he fits well with our squad build.}

30 Oct 2025 10:52:13
Thanks for the info Carra,

As always, your information is very much appreciated.

I missed last nights game but I have to say I was very disappointed to hear that Slot didn't go with a strong starting line up.

I wouldn't want to be thinking about replacing him at the moment, I would rather we got behind him and the team. However, I am starting to question some of his choices. I think if it became apparent that he wasn't the manager to take us forward it's still really only Alonso that I'd want to see in the future.

30 Oct 2025 11:20:17
Personally I would love Klopp back but certainly not as an interim manager, I don’t see it happening because his recent interview seemed very clear that he enjoys his current life and doesn’t see managing in his future, he did caveat that with, if I was to manage again in England it would only be Liverpool but that’s nothing new.

I know this isint going to be a popular opinion but I would quiet like Diego Simeone as a replacement, the man is a fierce competitor, his teams play to win and he has an Aura about him similar to Klopp. Certainly wouldn’t be seeing no limp performances under simeone!

30 Oct 2025 12:52:14
Honestly, it is a bit weird to talk about replacing Slot, notwithstanding what Carra said.
He did well last year, by building on what he was given.
He did badly this year exactly for the opposite reason, by making way too many changes. Almost like setting himself to fail.

I remembered how highly he was regarded.
How could it change over the ccurse of a few months?
Just like Salah, best player last season?
The way we talked about him, it is like the worst player in the team.

So, I am asking for perspective.
Even if some time it is best to empty the flask, and re-start all over, it is still re-starting with an empty flask.

Even with Hodgson crab, he lasted a half season.
I just hope with Slot, it doesn't reach the stage we need to re-start.

30 Oct 2025 13:04:37
McNulty is a well documented Everton fan, so I'd take any of his opinions about Liverpool with a pinch of salt.

30 Oct 2025 13:25:33
I can’t see Klopp wanting to come back. He’s had enough of the pressures of club football and was very clear on that, Gerrard shouldn’t be in the conversation, he’s failed in most of his appointments and is personality and tactical vacuum. Same goes for Zidane only with the added bonus of his English speaking being limited at best.

30 Oct 2025 15:29:55
Klopp ain't coming back, people need to get over that one!

Best post in this thread is the one by D-Day referencing City's and Guardiola's similar problems last year.

One bad run does not make a good manager bad. Slot more than proved himself more than capable last season and should be granted the time and patience to turn things around.

30 Oct 2025 16:27:46
Bournemouth playing some really good stuff. Like us a lot of change but so far they haven't skipped a beat.

30 Oct 2025 17:34:22
Thanks Carra.

31 Oct 2025 21:46:12
Thanks Carra. Great to hear from you. Keep posting!
