The Independent reporting we are 'advancing' for Doucoure.
If true I think he would be a very good addition, looked very impressive in his debut season and won POTY.
Only downside is we have left it a bit late for Palace to get a replacement so they are probably going to rinse us for every penny.

We have a 110 million so if possible sangare and cheik doucore would be great in the defensive midfield positions, i don't care how good he has been but we need a replacement for robbo in this new role.

At this point we need to forget about the money I think. We’re going to have to pay through the nose so I’m more bothered about whether he’s the right fit, which I think he absolutely is. We need a 6 and he fits the bill so if it’s £70m then we just need to pay.

I think Bajcetic has the advantage of being fairly versatile so I'm sure he will still get his opportunities in CM and DM (and previously CB) in a season where we could be playing 60+ games.

He is a cracking player. A non nosnesne out and out DM. will sit there and stop all the attacks. Not going to do any fancy turns or tricks And I am personally very happy with this choice.

Habibi- I think he’s a little better than you give him credit for, he’s not bad on the ball. I just can’t see in this situation how we don’t end up paying £60m as a minimum, more likely £70/ 80m, not the reported less than £50m.

Good player but in their opening game his midfield partner, Lerma looked much the better player. The right sort of player to free up Mac Allister though to go more box to box in that midfield duo. Hopefully Chelsea don't get involved ?.

@faith. I believe he's seen more of an attacking player. He just excelled in the defensive midfield when asked to play.
I am certain to see him playing an attacking role once fully fit with the possibility of filling in defence duties if need be.

I don’t understand the disrespect we’ve shown towards Phillips, he’s been very good for us more often than not but hasn’t been afforded the same opportunities Rhys Williams has even though at this stage, he’s twice the player williams is. I think with sepp van der berg leaving to go Preston on loan, I would also look to send Rhys out on loan and keep Phillips in the fold with the first team.
Minamino and Phillips surely have done something wrong to klopp.

I am happy with his contributions. I actually think he might be faster than Rhys, although not a Hugh bar to start with.
Basically, I rate him way ahead of Rhys.
Good enough to be 4th or 5th choice.
However good Matip is, he is just no good for liverpool when he is so unreliable.
This should be his last season with us.
So we still only have van dijk, gomes. Maybe now Ben Davies. There is definitely room for another top defender and then Philips.

Salah has been completely ineffective since he returned from Afcon, as have others returning from injury. Really hope Jurgen switches things up from the tried and tested (line up-wise and tactic-wise) . Won't hold my breath though.

It's incredible how much a players stats change depending on the league strength/ league position/ tactics employed by their team. For example, Doucoure's passing/ carrying stats looked much better in France.
I imagine the clubs using these stats to recruit (Brighton) will employ a statistical model which uses some contextual variables to give a final number which can be used to compare players evenly with less bias.
