Just back from a phenomenal day at Anfield.

Was great to see Flanno & Lucas back out On the pitch .

Hopefully both will be back regularly as we have missed them both so much.

Tierry Henry was a class act too, as was all of the guys who turned out, if only we could turn the clock back a few yrs and get them signed up we'd be absolutely cruising.

Main talking point in the Centenary Stand before the game was what reception Torres would get and how he would look alongside Ed2's favourite player ha ha .

Well it's fair to say the Prodigal son returned big time as the reception he got was great to see and I think surprised him too.

The truth about his departure I'm sure will come out one day.

I know this was just a charity match but both defences, including Carra were not for giving away anything lightly with good calibre in both.

Suarez & Torres linked up superbly and the ' if only ' thought came in regularly throughout that 2nd half.

If it becomes clear that the likes of Vietto etc will not be coming in the summer, with the board seeing the crowds reaction to him, would a bid for Torres be totally out of the question and if so do you have any idea how much he would cost?

I really don't think Torres will ever come back mate.

Don't think it would happen myself Kaizer and ideally would like to see someone else but in football strange things happen.

Ability wise he seems back at a decent level and if the price was right I'd take him

Because he's had two months where he hasn't been exceptionally dreadful (still a long way from anything over 'decent') we want him back? Are you serious?

Let's put it this way, if Lambert, Borini & Balotelli move on in the summer, which the Eds have confirmed the club have already tried to do, if we only have £20m available to spend on one striker, due to FFP constraints who would you feel would do better and give the place as big a lift?

Going by yesterday the fans would clearly accept him back.

If funds are restricted and we have to go with status quo or Sturridge, Origi, a rejuvenated and motivated Torres, Sterling and academy as back up I'd take the latter

If Torres is the best you can do then keep your money! He's gone. He forced his way out, has been awful for 5 years, amongst the worst strikers around. I honest can't think of anyone who had his service and still flopped. He's had a kind of decent run since returning to Athletico but hardly worth justifying money spent and reserve team players. To talk about having him in our squad, never mind spending £20m (and are you forgetting or just choosing to ignore his big wages) on him is truly absurd, and is the type of comment that has made our club a real laughing stock of late rather than the victim of viscous jealousy it once was (and all top clubs are). Torres back - let's get Crouch back and all, maybe Robbie Keane, N'Gog, Le Tallec and Sinema-Pongolle as well.

It's very easy bud to sit and type he's sh*ep so is he etc without coming up with better options.

This lack of goals was widely predicted by all this season due to the standard of striker we have and will cost us our champs lge spot this season.

If you had a transfer budget of say £20m who would you sign instead who would do better or as you say would you do nothing and keep the strikers we have.

Torres was finished the day he forced himself out of the club and IMO, even he knew it afterwards.

My first line is the better option - keep your money. Sturridge, Origi, Ojo, Sinclair, Sterling, Ibe as the forward options. Torres is a very expensive answer to nothing.
