It seems that the club are at a major T junction with regard to transfers, because of the failure to gain Champs League. Is it time to concentrate solely on the youth we have in the ranks? One thing everyone seems to forget is that Origi joins this summer and I for one am excited by the prospect, yes he's young and may have a settling in period but I can see a great future for him. So chin up all there are things to be excited about and maybe we get one stellar player in the transfer window ! time to hibernate roll on next season

I truly believe Coutinho will be world class. Emre Can has already shown that he has ability way beyond his years and is a very exciting player to have at the club. Origi shown at the World Cup that he is a top talent and Ibe looks very promising too. Markovic has bags of talent. Sakho, Moreno, Henderson look like they will only get better. There's plenty to look forward to from the group of players we have, and even if Sterling is sold we will still get a good fee for him to invest in the squad. I'm quite excited for the future, yet many fans soon overly frustrated.

Before we buy a single player we need to move on all the players that don't have any future at the club. Only then can we actually take stock of what we need and how much money we can spend on the required players. Try to get the spine of the team right before anything else.

I feel we should of tried to at least recall him in January knowing the fragility of Sturridge and BR's lack of faith in our options. Yeah he's young, but so is Sinclair. I hope Origi does make an impact because we need goals badly in our side.

Irish, but what if you cannot shift any players on and Liverpool need to act fast before a target is close to joining someone else? Liverpool will struggle to move some players on this summer, most will probably be loaned out with Liverpool paying a large percentage of their wages, it will also be difficult to buy this summer as many clubs have money and will all want the better players. Loads of competition for players this summer, especially for the better players. With no UCL and little cash to offer it could be a disappointing summer for Liverpool transfer wise. Selling Sterling will raise cash, but with Carra, Suarez leaving last season, Gerrard leaving and possibly Sterling, will that not put players off from joining? Even slightly?

I think Liverpool need to make some shrewd signings this summer, so I think it's best BR steers clear.

Ibe will be like a new signing next season after a good preseason. Change the manager, get a couple good signings like Coutinho and Sturridge and Liverpool will be better next season. But they have to get it right. A couple good signings is imperative, along with tying Ibe down for a few more years. Sturridge staying fit is important too, but it's all possible.

Completely agree with red Rums comment above. We have cracking talent in our ranks that will come good. i'd also add lovern to the list.

We have the squad, for sure. It's the right manager that we lack.

I think it would be better to move Markovic on because he doesn't fit in the premier league. Either that or he needs to get arrogant real fast because he is too passive.

Markovic has been played, predominantly, at right wing back, in a new league, with new surroundings, in a struggling Liverpool team. Wise up - the boy is young, has a lot of potential and we spent a hefty amount on him - moving him on will do nobody any good.

We also need to keep Sterling in my opinion. He will be an excellent player - his performance against Chelsea shows he is already very, very good. I don't see us being able to replace him with somebody of similar quality at his age. I want Markovic and Ibe and Ojo and Sinclair to play with Sterling, not instead of him. Selling one of our better, more promising players smacks of a lack of ambition and sends out a bad message to prospective signings and current personnel. Additionally, without CL football, we need to retain as many quality players as possible as bringing real quality in is going to be hugely difficult this summer.

{Ed002's Note - Clubs should never keep players who want to leave. Liverpool have recent experience of how toxic life becomes when they do that.}
