hey eds
would like to get your views on ibe and sterling
you have stated that you reckon ibe will be better, but why is this?
and what are your views on sterling? seen some rate him and some dont
would like to read your views

{Ed001's Note - I have said from the start Ibe will be better, he has a better attitude, he works harder in training, he is much more powerful and strong. On the pitch they are about the same level ability wise, but physically Ibe is streets ahead and is only lacking experience to move ahead of Sterling ability wise. With the attitude he has displayed, since he first started at Wycombe, he seems the type of lad to deal with the hype and not let it go to his head.}

Agree0 Disagree0

Disagree there Ed01, they are different players altogether and moving into the future they ll be different players.
IBe is an out and out winger while Sterling ll emulate a different dimensions and role.
Ibe is not half Sterling was at this stage, the lad had close to 13 goals two seasons ago. Sterling is a very clever player and would reach heights at city.
His assist for the first goal shows exactly what he is all about. He would be a regular starter for city for the next 5 good years.

{Ed001's Note - Sterling played with Suarez and Sturridge, that is why he got so many goals. Put Ibe alongside those two and he will get as many goals. As for what kind of player they are, that changes over time, Sterling was an out and out winger when he first came into the team.}

Sterling is ten times better than Ibe and was ten times better at his age. I didn't hear any concerns from anyone about Sterling's attitude other than his wish to move to City and in any case attitude doesn't make someone who is less talented into a great player.

The common view here by the way was that Sterling will be a squad player at best in city. so far he is one of the first names on the team sheet and had his first assist yeterday.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but that is total nonsense.}

Fanobip
Balotelli all the talent wrong attitude
Ronaldo when he first went to man utd was a decent player hard work made him one of the best players in the world

24 Aug 2015 08:06:33
yea once city sign de bryune or some other player let's see if sterling makes the starting team. he got his first assist yes but that wasnt any great work . kolarov just has a bullet left foot. sterling won't start if city acquire one big player.

24 Aug 2015 08:08:02
Not really Ed01, BR changed the Sterling we all knoow to a large extent with the way we played.
I have said this some two years ago, Suarez played a major part in the development of Sterling. His goals gave him the confident to push on.
Ibe will never be same as Sterling IMO. They are differnet players and would remain. Ibe is a winger and BR would never play him centrally at all. I can't see Ibe scoring 10 goals a season playing out wide.
It was not his goals that made city to pump 50 mill. He is almost there as finished article.

24 Aug 2015 08:18:45
Fano Sterlings attitude was mentioned on here a while ago. I specifically remember a personal thread between me and e001 talking about Sterling and Ravel Morrison about 2-3 years ago(when he was at westham) and it was touched on.
There were a fair few on here saying he could go warm the pines,but nothing I could see from the regular posters.EMS redohio,rencey waro etc etc.

There isn't even the remotest bit of truth in claiming Sterling is 10x the player Ibe is. That's just stoopid

24 Aug 2015 07:21:46
Agree with Ed001. Did you watch Sterling without Susrez in the team making space for him?
He was a different player. Ibe is at least as good as Sterling.

24 Aug 2015 08:54:54
I said couple of seasons back that ibe will be a better player than sterling, quite a few disagreed then, sterling is a great player full of potential, he was given an opportunity to play along side perhaps one of the greatest forwards in Suarez, Suarez although a complete . Lifted the team as a whole.
I've been watching ibe for some time after being told about him a while ago, and I've got to say he is going to be some player, in MY opinion better all round than sterling, I just hope he is given the chance sterling was on a regular basis.
He's got speed and power, his attitude towards the game is impressive for his age, his head hasn't turned towards look at me I'm amazing, he works hard trains hard and is improving all the time.
the whole team was woeful last season, sterling included, the chances he missed in at goal were in real, he didn't turn up along with the rest of the team for a lot of games last year, that's not me having a dig or blaming him, but you could tell that his heart wasn't in it, in ibe we've got a hungry player willing to work hard and play his heart out.
Any doubt he's going to be better than sterling should be gone by the end of the season if he's given the chance,
Sorry for long post, been a while but I've been watching this lad for years, always though he's going to be a belting player.

Akshit,

You sounds bitter to me, Once city signs KDB,we ll see affront three of Sterling - Aguero - KDB. Navas and Nasri would be benched.
The assist was clever piece of work by Sterling.

The lad has no attitude problem and he just wanted a move to city. Let's be honest here. We will now have to draw a list of players who would want to move out from the club. All of the had one thing in common to win trophies elsewhere.
He is constantly booed by supporters and kept his head very cool. I could see him behaving well for the next 10 years.

{Ed001's Note - he does have issues, please don't try and sound like you are in the know.}

I think currently Sterling is above Ibe but only due to the experience he has of playing approximately 2-3 years of prem football. Ibe has a great deal of potential but has a lot to work on with his end product, which I believe will come over time. Right now whilst Sterling hasn't got the most fantastic output, his movement is very good (probably something he benefited from playing alongside the likes of Suarez and Sturridge). That being said, if you compare them to when they both entered the first team, Ibe for me has shown a lot more to his game. If Ibe can continue working hard and developing his end product, I do feel we've got the better player

Depay, ibe and sterling are what you get if you split Ronaldo into 3 players.

Sterling isn't a good individual player but he is a hell of a cog in a machine with his electric pace.

Depay doesn't have the pace contrary to what 'harry' believes but is a by the looks of things (although a one trick pony) very clinical once he gets it on his right peg.

Ibe is the one who can be better than both he has the pace, attitude and finishing ability but he is the one who doesn't offer an awful lot yet as he has to develop but that only comes with playing him. I've seen a few staying that he should he an impact sub, yet all season and beyond everyone has been crying about Brendan not playing the youth etc and now he is he best stuck with ibe because he is going to be one hell of a player.

You look at players now who think there great or want to emulate Ronaldo, yet they all forget how much Ronaldo put in to gr t were he is. It was his attitude that took him to the heights he is at

We all know sterlings stinks, depay ti he looks like he thinks he has made it. Ibe well the attitude looks fantastic and that will be the difference on who takes themselves to the next level.

Do you actually watch football btw first season sterling played and signed a new contract and developed well. Second season barely played didn't really get out in until Feb and benefitted from the system and then his first proper season after 2 seasons and he wasnt any good apart from a few flashes where his pace ocome out on top. If he wasn't English then your looking at people like delefeu, obertan for what he actually offers.

24 Aug 2015 12:33:48
Do you honestly think Sterling will be at citeh for 10 yrs not a prayer he'll be off in 2-3 years time abroad.

24 Aug 2015 12:35:01
EG I don't think we have to draw a list of players wanting to leave simply for trophies, but from a management perspective and playing time,I would hazard a guess financial incentives may have also led him to move to city too.

Sterling has received a lot of bad press,regarding shishas and laughing gas. which he was asked to stop doing by the club and ignored.
After the this is liverpool documentary,he came out and said BR apologised and said he was wrong,BR later denied that was ever the case. I've read/heard multiple other things too but couldn't possibly confirm them all. To put him the the light you seem to be holding him up to seems absurd.

I seriusly feel for all thoes who are appreciating Countinho, Imagine if he hands in a TR?. Lols.

24 Aug 2015 14:11:48
You will always get bitter fans at every club. Heck even some of Chelseas acted up when Lampard left and the returned with City. You'll never stop dunces.
I don't mind when players want to leave the club I'll be gutted they're going sometimes,but it's usually better that they leave when their heart is not normally in it. The fans forgave Luis quickly enough after his shenanigans because he gave his all to the club. It's also widely known what he did with youth teams in his free time and how well he got on with people in the club.

If coutinho ever wanted to leave I'd wave him goodbye and good luck and hope he fulfilled his dreams,I just hope that in that process nothing bitter comes from his end towards Liverpool. He carried us on his shoulder last year,and saved us from embarrassment a few times,and started this season the same. as long as I feel a player has given us their all/will give us their all, they have my respect.

I disgree, Majority of the players who performs good get a pay rise when they move. its simple math. Sterling moved because like us He doesn't fancy Liverpool winning anything under BR. what's wrong in it. Yes, the lad is guilty of creating a scene to force out a move, But footbal is football and everything is forgottem, I saw the KOP singing loud anc clear for Torres and Suarez at Gerrard Testimonial.

Sterling is still recieving abuses, but time heals everything. He is settled at city and I simply can't see him struggling, even if we wish for it.

24 Aug 2015 15:47:22
I have no idea what you're disagreeing with?
The idea that a player wouldn't move for money solely? we will never know why Sterling wanted to leave,clearly things weren't right between he and BR though. I don't think every player leaves simply for trophies at all. Take a look at the russian league with Hulk and Etoo, I certainly don't think they went there for the glory of the russian premier league or weather.
I'm not as sure as other Sterling will bag trophies at City,I'm not a fan of their current squads future. Which looks likely to rely on delph fernandinho and fernando when they phase toure out.

If football is all about winning trophies,Gerrard would have left us a long time ago as well as Agger. Some people have other factors.

24 Aug 2015 16:24:53
I've said for 2 years that Ibe was the better long term prospect than Sterling because he was more powerful, had more presence, kept his head up when in possession thus making him more aware, rode tackles better and has a better final product.
