Right so from what I gather (and some agree with) this is the general feeling about Liverpool right now.
1. Owners need to go - kinda agree their philosophies etc are baffling at time
2. We've just loaned out our best centre back - you know the guy who's never kicked a ball in the premier league
3. All remaining centre backs at the club are no good to put it politely - hard to argue with but surely some of the blame must go to the way we coach them
4. Lucas all of a sudden has been considered our best/ most vital player
5. We need to sell everyone
6. The start we've made has been a disaster- we lost one game
7. Rodgers must go and be replaced by klopp - definitely agree
To sum it up it's pretty great to be a Liverpool fan right now. Hundreds of millions for mediocrity, do we perhaps accept were just not actually that good or still believe it's 1989 because I'm somewhat confused. I'm thirty years old, can never really recall us being great in the transfer market nor have I looked at the squad and said, 'yes certainly best in this league'
I'd love to know how we can fix the club, does everyone go and start all over again spending another 500 million whilst Gary Monk takes charge. I'd love some sensible feedback

Get in a quality manager would appear to be a good start. At the moment we are punching way below our weight due to Ron Queeg's mate.

30 years old welshkop? then yes as an older man, i can in fact confirm you will never have seen liverpool fc have a shrewd, carefully considered transfer window.

manager after manager has completely squandered millions by and large. several huge exceptions of course- especially but not always by rafa in the day. with awful decisions and policies filtered down from the very top year after year after year.

your hunch and several of your points are correct old son.

Bin Sky, scrap the Premier League and any clubs that want to go off to play in a European League let them, football highlights on a Sat night or club streaming only, reduce ridiculous wages and admission prices, introduce safe standing and pay on the day for these areas.
If you think this sounds like a return to the 1970's, I'd say look at Germany and how it can be done.

{Ed002's Note - It is a return to the 50s without television. When the clubs split I expect four German side to go. These sort of ideas would cripple a lot of clubs.}

1. Disagree, the owners have brought stability, ground capacity increase, marketing improved, money provided for transfers, top fees recouped on S and S. Low nett spend, less debt.
2.Neutral, Rodgers said Ilori was the future, also promised him game time, sends him on loan with option given to villa to buy. Lose - lose situation for Rodgers here.
3.Disagree, Sakho is class, Ilori possibly, Gomez potential, Toure experienced. 3 years and no solid defence, says it all about the coaching.
4.Neutral, in some games Lucas should be the first name on teamsheet.
5.Neutral, some would say a bigger disaster would result in a blessing, Rodgers out, Klopp in asap. 3-0 loss to hammers at Anfield with tough away games and Europa to come, going to be a long season.
7.Agree

{Ed002's Note - You are miles away on item 1. And this obsession with Klopp is beginning to get embarrassing.}

As I said before our main transfer problem is not that we don't buy qualiy players but that we sell our best players. Suarez, Alonso, Macherano, Sterling. When we sold Torres he was our best player even though he then faded away. Hard to keep a good level when your best players leave every summer. Next year it will be Coutinho.

Great post Juicer. Couple that with Jeremy Corbyn as the Labour leader to win the next election and who knows we could end up with a happier society. Bring back the 70's.

dom - there was no "transfer window" 30 years ago so you must also have never seen LFC have a carefully considered transfer window.

Corbyn will never win an election. Luckily the are enough sensible people left in the UK to stop that ever happening. In fact i will go so far to say he won't even make leader.

Ed I was being sarcastic in using the name klopp, if it was going to happen it would be done already.
I'm really going to have to question how anyone comes to the conclusion that sakho is class however. Terry was class, Ferdinand, Adams, vidic, carra. Best of the 4 we have but far from class. Not going to bother arguing as to why, I've watched him live 30 odd times, class doesn't come to mind.
Toure is experienced correct, however wouldn't have him in my 5 a side team. Every time he goes near the ball you have a heart attack, much in the lovren/ skrtel style.
I don't want to come on here to bemoan about our players, like everyone I'm frustrated. I have no answers, but evidentally our owners don't either, financially they have been fantastic but it's not in the right places.
Rafa with 300 million, I kinda think we would be a nailed on top 4 team as we once were

Love it that everyone disagrees with Ron Keague even though what he said is an actual fact! If you like Rodgers then everything you say is wrong!! Even when it's right!! Lol!
