Given how the Club has been completely bypassed in the last decade in our own league and has become an also ran in European terms across the board you'd have to think that the next managerial appointment is the most important to the Club in living memory. If the next incumbent doesn't get it right we will become a club fighting for 5th/6th to 8th/9th annually and eventually potentially slip beyond even that as the gap to the top 4/5 clubs widens year on year.

I agree, if it's a weak manager next time, it's just going to get harder and harder to rely on history to attract top talent.

We need to go for a top global manager this time like Klopp, Ancelotti. Relative to what you pay the players it's worth it and a good manager will add more value to the clubs franchise and in terms of developing young players into stars than anything else. Just look at what Mourinho has done for almost any side he's coached.

Take risks on players, but not the manager IMO, there's only one of them and you can't change quickly like you can a player that turns out to be weaker than expected.

Rafa had us ranked no1 in Europe so I would half that decade stat.
