i e just got some free time to come on here and i would just like to say that i don't understand the flanno situation concerning his contract, what i can't believe is and error prone gk who has cost us points and maybe the cup on sunday got a new 5 year contract where as flanno has not been given one yet and up to now i have not read anywere that there are plans to give him one, if we let flanno slip through our fingers because of this then there is something very wrong at the club because we all know flanno is a veru good right back who can also play at left back just as good as clyne did last night, the way flanno is handeling himself in this situation is also very good and should show the owners and the manager that they have a very good player and person who does not moan like sterling did who also won't let you or the team down like mingolet does and will play until he physically can't for me he has the carra mentality so come on liverpool fc give the lad a new contract because he deserves it, he deserves it more than mingolet did, we messed up letting shelvey go so we should learn from that and get him tied down on a long term contract, the only other thing which i hope is that he has been told he will get a new contract in the summer, because i'm sure he can sign a pre-contract deal with some one else on a free.

{Ed001's Note - Shelvey was desperate to leave, and was crap, not sure how he has any relation to a player coming back from a long term injury who knows that there is a contract there when he proves his fitness and is happy with that situation. Shelvey on the other hand forced his way out because he wasn't going to get games. What is the similarity? I don't understand this love of Shelvey anyway, his only redeeming feature was his lack of need for a Halloween costume as he looks more like Voldemort than Voldemort does. Shelvey was slower than a 25 year jail stretch, with the temperament of a spoilt child who had just had their favourite toy taken off them.}

Spot on, ed. I remember many saying we should have kept Shelvey and sold Hendo. Well, the facts don`t bear that out as Shelvey has actually gotten worse and the fact that he went to Newcastle where he may soon get relegated shows exactly how far he has fallen.

Hahaha, that Voldemort crack just made me laugh out loud at my desk. You'll get me in trouble being that funny Ed1. :)

{Ed001's Note - don't worry it won't happen again.}

That could be one of my favourite Ed responses of all time.

My lasting memory of Jonjo was I believe a reading game at Anfield. I may be mistaken but I think it was the game where one of the reading lads hoped off and it turned out he had broken something.

Anyway I remember Jonjo having an absolute mare and having lost the ball for like the billionth time he just looked over to the bench forlornly as if to say; help me. That was the moment I decided he just wasn't going to cut it.

Still can't believe the Mignolet contract.
He must have the best agent in the business.

Reading the original post and was thinking of the reply ed wrote until he got onto his appearance. Leave that to you Ed.
it's a case of, he left for first team football. Got it and has done nothing with it. Was not a stand out player at Swansea and won't be at Newcastle. Do you honestly see Shelvey at Liverpool bettering us than our current crop?

what is this obsession with wanting to buy back players once they have left? they have moved on, we have moved on. end of.

I have the utmost respect for the Ed's football knowledge. I totally agree with his opinions on Shelvey's ability to perform. However to mock a man for his appearance when he suffers from a condition that he has no control over, alopecia totalis - a condition I suffer from myself - is a horribly low blow and entirely unnecessary.

If that was not Ed's intention, and I truly hope it wasn't - perhaps I am just massively sensitive to this issue-, then perhaps careful with the Voldemort comments.

{Ed001's Note - it wouldn't matter if he has hair or not, it is the shape of his face that makes him look like Voldemort. Duncan Goodhew had the same thing but looks nothing like Voldemort so yes you are being oversensitive. PC gone mad again. Amazing how people lose their sense of humour when they think they might be the butt of the joke!}

{Ed001's Note - good point!}

Christ Adz28, even Shelvey enjoys a good round of 'Voldy Voldy give us a wave'!

My lasting memory of Shelvey was the first time we played against him at Swansea - 2-2, and he was heavily involved in all 4 goals!
