Ed001 I'm glad to hear Patricio is ok but I think the concussion substitute are unfair and done wrong I think they should come on and if the player is ok he goes back on again after being assessed properly. But I don't think you should be able to replace someone when you have used all your subs because if a player gets a bad leg break and all subs are used you don't get to replace him so for me that does not seem fair.

{Ed001's Note - I don't see how that makes a concussion sub wrong? A player with a broken leg does not try to play on and do more damage but a concussed player has done so many times.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If I’m not mistaken the opposing team get an additional substitute that they can use at a later point as a result of the concussion substitution for their opponent.

So they try to balance out fairness with safety.

Wassa-lfc, which is why Curtis Jones was dressed to come on until Klopp thought against it.

OP, I don't understand your beef with the concussion sub system. Player safety is what is paramount and as long as the other team is not penalized for this, which it doesn't based on what Wassa-lfc has said so still not sure what you are on about here, man.

I’ve got no problem with the concussion subs but last night was not the scenario it was brought in for. Patricio was coming off there was no way he was going to play on and under normal circumstances they would’ve had to put an outfield player in goal. The commentators completely missed the point with their praising of the system as all it did last night was allow Wolves to get another keeper on. It didn’t save Patricio in any way.
It’s for those situations when players get a head injury but are forced to play on because they either can’t or don’t want to use a sub.
Like I said I have no problem with it and it did work for Wolves last night but that was not what it was brought in for.

{Ed077's Note - well the concussion sub was brought into to sub a concussed player out. SO what was different last night?}

I'm really not sure what the argument here is and tbh I'm getting lost trying to follow the logic of ya'll trying to justify your position.

I did not know the other team got a sub as well. I have no problem with concussion subs all, what it was is I thought if we had a player go down with a bad injury straight after we would not be able to replace him putting us down to 10 men so that's it but if one team gets an concussion subs and the other team gets an extra sub that is all fair.

Are people trying to winge that Wolves had an unfair advantage because their player got knocked out cold?

Least of all the GK, it’s not like Ruddy was bringing fresh legs to tear apart our tired team is it 😂.

All that mattered is that patricio is ok.

So are you saying if a striker gets concussed you can bring on another striker, but you if its a goalkeeper you can't bring on another goalkeeper?

I’ve literally no issue with it, to my mind last night was exactly why the concussion sub rule was brought in. Just hope the lad is alright as it looked a sickening blow.
