Eds. I know you've been inundated with questions about the super league and I appreciate all your efforts but can I ask the following

What kind of timeline are we looking at to set it up?

I'm guessing all the domestic leagues, UEFA, FIFA etc will use all legal action to. stop it.

{Ed002's Note - Nothing can happen before 2024 and there will be huge legal hurdles if an attempt is made to start this sumemr or next. The proposals from the "elite" sides for a breakaway were looking realistically at 2027/28 - this proposal would likely look to something like 2025 - but right now there is a lack of detail and no agreement.}

Hi Ed2 question if I may? I know I have asked you before about the “elite” groups, that doesn’t include Liverpool, And you were kind enough to say the term “elite” was something that they had called themselves, something along those lines. But does this group include any of the 12 clubs that have signed up to this breakaway? If so, they seem to be hedging their bests a tad and, as you say, it inevitable that this, or something similar will happen at some stage. If it is a completely different group of “elite” clubs then the the term is a bold one to call yourself?

Fascinating future for football whatever side of the fence you are on? I’m a bit of a traditionalist but sometimes change is for the best (especially in business) look what the EPL as a brand did for the game. Mostly positive.

{Ed002's Note - It includes most of the clubs and they will be meeting at the request of one of the sides this week. I was wondering if there might be some no shows. It is not so much to do with "hedging their bets", it is getting behind a proposal that remains incomplete. There have been other proposals (Stephen Ross, Dalian Wanda Group, expanded Club World Cup etc.) and the "elite" clubs do not simply discuss the "breakaway", but a whole host of other stuff aswell.}

Sounds like there may well end up with more than one of these breakaway groups in the end? in 15 years time we’ll all be settling down to watch the European ‘Super Bowl’ where the winners of each league compete after playoffs/ wildcards including live entertainment after each innings/ quarter/ face off.

Sounds a bit like the champions league but with more prize money.
