Ok, so, with the CL semi on Wednesday, but given I totally agree with the idea that the next match is the most important, what do we think will be the team for the Everton match?

I’d agree with the line-up above. I think we have more than enough to thrash a pathetic Everton team whoever we put out. I don’t trust that lot to not try to assault our players, especially if they’re being completely outplayed as expected. It would make a lot of sense, regardless of the one-game-at-a-time mantra, to rest the players who are perhaps less resistant to injury.

Definitely rest Thiago, Robbo, Matip I would say, and bring in Keita, Tsimikas, Konate.
The rest stays as it was, a nice thrashing of that pitiful bunch from that dump across the park and a Burnley win followed by several Hail Marys will make for a fulfilling Sunday 😜.

No resting of players for Everton. Maybe Keita for Henderson and possibly Jota for Diaz. I've probably just contradicted myself by saying that!

I don't think we should be changing much. Ali in goal. Trent, Matip, Virg and Robbo across the back. Hendo, Fabinho and Jones in midfield. Mane, Jota, Salah up top.

Then against Villareal i'd bring Konate in for Matip, Thiago in for Jones, and Diaz in for Jota.

I'd definitely play Jones in the derby though. Mostly because i don't want the hatchet men anywhere near Thiago when we're good enough to batter them without him.

Yup, I'd agree with mk here. Keep the regular defense, give thiago a break as it will be a physical game, and jotas probably due a start up front.

Tue - Sun in this day and age is a very good rest for the players and I think is the longest they get from now until the end of the season. In the past Klopp has played weaker teams against Everton but I don’t think at any point in those there were so few games left with 1 point in the league. I can imagine changes from Sunday to next Sat in the 3 games but i can’t Imagine there being wholesale changes in the team like we afforded to do against Benfica. And we saw what wholesale changes did to the team when we conceded 3.
The squad is quality enough to rotate through for 3 games in a week and remain extremely strong so I’m looking forward to all 3 games.

What came as a shock to me yesterday was how many club games Diaz has actually played this season. He’s played in 45 and has 300 more minutes than Mane. I for one certainly took for granted that and look at him as the fresher one due to him only arriving in Feb.
