Does anyone know what's happening with Arthur Melo is he not match fit or just can't get a game yet.

Agree1 Disagree0

If it’s match fitness then there’s not many first team minutes he can get in the next 2 and a half weeks.

By this time Hendo could be back and possibly Jones and rumour is Naby is ahead of schedule so not sure if those players return where that leaves him in the pecking order.

OP, tbf we have played just two matches since he signed. And he came on from the bench last week against Napoli.
But yeah, Klopp had talked about his lack of match fitness when he signed. Let's hope he gets up to speed quickly. Anyway, any new midfielder needs around 3-4 months before Klopp trusts them fully in our system. So he will still be learning the tactial side of what we want from him.

I think he was an emergency player on loan so is basically 7th or 8th choice as well as needing time to adapt to how we play. Probably why he hasn’t featured much and won't feature much pending injuries.

Naby is ahead of schedule?
Hope he’s never seen in the kit again.

OP, I've said since we signed him that I don't think he's came to start but to help Thiago's workload. When Thiago is out of the team, we have no one who can get on the ball and dictate the tempo, Arthur has that if we can get him to work.

Liverpool’s October 2022:

• Brighton [H]
• Rangers [H]
• Arsenal [A]
• Rangers [A]
• Manchester City [H]
• West Ham [H]
• Nottingham Forest [A]
• Ajax [A]
• Leeds United [H]

6 Premier League games and 3 Champions League games.

Whilst the realisation of no games for 2 and a half weeks kicks in there’s plenty to look forward to in Oct.

9 points in the CL would be nice and those are some tricky fixtures in the league. City home being a huge one.

15 Sep 2022 15:53:04
Some nice fixtures there JK. Can see us winning the majority of those games if not all. Nice october on the horizon lads.

15 Sep 2022 18:04:25
I think we have to win them all, maybe 1 draw be ok. Not much room for slip ups now.

Read a - probably clickbait - article earlier that reckoned Klopp and his coaches have been disappointed in Arthur’s approach to training and are pondering cancelling the loan in January. Maybe shades of the Nuri Sahin about this one….

Johnny I seen the same mate. Only time will tell I suppose. A week ago he was deemed fit enough for minutes and then on Tue he was behind a 17 year old in the pecking order ??‍♂️.

Honestly, Arthur Daley would have been a better signing, he’d have at least brought Terry McCann with him to bring a bit of fight in midfield.

Someone (sorry, forgot who) wrote on here about how the media tries to dictate "news" according to their agenda or just search for clickbaiting subjects. This is a prime example of it. Arthur joined just two weeks ago and they've already declared Klopp wants him gone after two weeks. That's not the Klopp I know. And he certainly would not tell anyone from the media what his real plans are. I guess Klopp saying that Arthur needed training to regain fitness and become familiar with the team, was not "juicy" enough.

9 games in 31 days …. To misquote “We’re going to need a bigger bunch of midfielders”.

16 Sep 2022 06:13:12
If Arthur doesn’t get significant game time in October he might as well just get on the bus home.

ArAy1969, the media is awash with that rubbish. It's the same with Darwin. It seems many in the media want him to fail so badly that they put near every touch/ run he makes under the microscope. IMO, I think it's cos the likes of City, Utd, Chelsea and Arsenal have had their own share of expensive flops like Lukaku, Pepe, Grealish (very close) and of course Pogba and Maguire (Utd have two of them says it all), they think it is now time for Klopp and LFC to have theirs and they hope he fails so they can say, "See, even LFC have expensive flops". That's what goes for "journalism" these days.

As for Arthur, the guy is short of match fitness as he had no preseason so it is normal that he gets up to speed physically and also with the way we play esp since he will be playing the Thiago role for us. Not sure why this is surprising.

{Ed001's Note - they would only have to mention Keita if they wanted an expensive flop at Liverpool.}

johnnyr1970, don't believe such rubbish, man. They pulled the same stunt with Fabinho when he was out of the team, saying Klopp wanted to bin him off to PSG in Jan of 2019 on loan cos "he was not happy with his approach to training (winkwink) ". Fab is still here and won everything with us since then. If Naby (who actually has attitude issues) still got chances after all this time then of course, Arthur will get chances. Again, don't believe everything you read, man. Propaganda is real.

As for Nuri Sahin, that has nothing to do with it cos even he himself said he left due to a disagreement with BR on where he should play. Nothing to do with attitude in training.

18 Sep 2022 17:03:52
Ed01, you will NEVER see me disagree with that one. I said Naby was a flop in 2020 and all he has done is confirm what I’ve said he was since that time.
