Guys, do you think Mbeumo could be a good replacement for Salah? He’s 24 and still young. If Salah stays for one more season, would it make sense to bring in Mbeumo when he leaves? PL experience, fits into the mould of players FSG targets. Homegrown option as well? What are you thoughts?

Mbeumo is an excellent player but he’s not a Salah replacement. To date he hasn’t shown he has a similar eye for goal as Salah - though his goalscoring record isn’t poor by any stretch - and he just isn’t as explosive or dynamic as Mo. That said, I believe our ‘Salah replacement’ will be from left field, as I don’t think there is a player out there who could directly replace Mo. Whoever takes on the challenge of taking over from Salah will need to grow into the role over time.

I think he'd be as good as anyone else were linked with to replace Mo to be honest. Very good player, not Salah but who besides Mbappe is?

Have thought the same as regards mbeumo, v good player anytime I've seen him especially this season has stepped up in toneys absence. If u where replacing salah he certainly should be in the conversation.

When Salah does go it’s a lot of goals and assists that need replacing. We have plenty of players who can contribute goals and assists but none have consistently combined 30 plus a season yet.

Nobody has done it JK because Salah is in the team and is already doing it. If we had 2 with Salah’s numbers we’d win every game by 3 or 4 goals!
When Salah goes someone else will take up the mantle like they did when Hunt, Keegan, Dalglish, Rush, Fowler, Owen, Torres, Suarez and Gerrard left.
It’s football, it’s the way it works.

BP like I said we have plenty of players who can score and assist but Mo’s numbers are way out ahead of everyone else’s and they have been for every season he’s been here.
We’re going to be 5 weeks without Mo in Jan so an ideal opportunity for someone else to step up and if Mo is as easily replaceable as it’s football someone else will take up the mantle then there’s no argument to keep him from the Saudi money.

In came Barnes, Beardsley, and Aldridge
If we could have defended at that time we would have won everything- every season.

I'm pretty sure we'll never get a like for like replacement for Salah. He's a unique type of player for his position, very much like Firmino was, as our CF. That means Klopp will probably go out and get the player he most likes and then adjust our front line's play, to best suit their combined skills and abilities. Very much like what he did with Mané, Firmino and Salah, earlier.

Nope, I don't. I think we can do a lot better than Mbeumo even tho, I like him.
Same thing with Mount when we were in for him. I always thought we could do better and we did with Szobosslai so to me, I'll pass on Mbeumo.
