Do eds know what's happening to Bogdan now? I read wigan could be a destination any truth?

{Ed001's Note - we are trying to get rid, but not getting many takers due to his wages.}

Thanks.

Are the talks with the Latics on hold or out-of-the-window now? I thought they had progressed quite far.

{Ed001's Note - last I heard everything was agreed apart from his wages, as I said above, wages are the issue.}

We play wigan on Sunday maybe we could leave him there.

13 Jul 2016 14:48:15
Come on Adam, just take the pay-cut and Bog Off!

14 Jul 2016 08:46:37
Thats the problem, they have too much power. I don't know where he gets off not accepting a paycut. He's rich anyway, greedy sod needs to bugger off.

14 Jul 2016 12:25:42
While I know he's not poor I doubt it's like he's mega rich. he will have 50-60 years of his life he'll have to support himself and possibly a family with probably not a high quality skillset outside of football, (or inside it), with not many job prospects. A tad easy to just say take a paycut when realistically 99% of people aren't going to take a pay cut when either way he'd be back up.

Agree 100% Shane k.

Bogdan is on like £15k a week, most folks have to work 6 months or more for that kind of cash. If he was wise he'd be putting something away to set himself up for after football, like all footballers should. I'm sorry but having a time limit on your career does not justify the sort of money footballers earn. They earn it because they are but a precious percentile of humanity that is capable of playing at the highest level and are able to command remuneration in accordance with the demand for their particular skill set. Bogdan either will or will not take a pay cut and either will or will not move on as a result. As time wears down on the window he will probably be under more pressure to take a pay cut if it's not settled sooner. He is clearly out of Klopp's plans and he would be hurting his future prospects, beyond Liverpool and possibly beyond his next club if he finds himself in Jose Enrique's situation where he's just not playing football and has no appeal to any another club. If Wigan don't flinch first he should take the pay cut and move for his own sake.

{Ed041's Note - why should he lose money Liverpool were willing to oy him because you suddenly don't want him now?

15 Jul 2016 00:07:56
Robbie, your moral high group ground comments are admirable but have no basis in reality. If we want Bogdan gone, we should let the process play put instead of venting your sour grapes on here because he won't take a pay cut and leave. Who signed him and offered him the wages? We did so stop slating him and let the process play out.

15 Jul 2016 08:48:17
From everything that has been said on several players over last couple of seasons, we really sound like we've put ourselves in this situation by being willing to pay higher wages than the player's real level would deserve. If he's not willing to budge on wages it is possible he might be willing to do an Enrique and just sit there picking up his cheque until we either come up with a solution or his contract runs out.

I've no strong feelings about Bogdan, I thought he had had a few fair performances, but by all accounts he is the one driving a move away.

I am of the view that if a player wants to hang on he can damage his career by not playing - which was the point I wanted to make, and also that I don't see the massive wages earned by players is due to (or can be justified by) a limited time frame in which to earn their money - as was suggested.

It looks as though he would be third choice at best if he were to stay, or maybe fourth if Ward has a successful loan. If he and a suitor don't find some middle ground he stands to lose more than any other party in the long run at least.

Like I said I have no strong feelings about him specifically but I don't agree with the justification of huge wages - regardless of what he earns particularly.

Rob stop worrying about money it's not yours.
