Hey Ed1, hope you're well mate.
Question, do you see any chance of Kvaratskhelia being available end of season?
Was my favourite option for the left before PSG signed him.
1
{Ed001's Note - I would be very surprised if they let him go.}
28 Mar 2026 04:39:16
Did you guys see the two goals Wirtz got in for Germany yesterday. Germany were trash but we got ourselves a player!
I can't believe what slotball is doing to this lad! He can literally shoot from anywhere but is probably not allowed to by slot.
2
28 Mar 2026 07:50:21
Don't most of our players thrive when playing for their country?
....
2
28 Mar 2026 08:05:12
Yeah, I can hear Slot say to Wirtz, "Don't you dare shoot." Dear oh dear.
2
28 Mar 2026 08:39:29
Sounds like some crazy thing Slot would say, shooting goes against his philosophy of slow ponderous football. Funny thing is - it's the perfect counter to those dreaded low blocks.
1
28 Mar 2026 08:55:09 Analysing matches with Wirtz saying "See? This is what I'm talking about, Florian. You can't be shooting when there's a recycling opportunity to Curtis Jones." 😆 C'mon lads, would it not have something to do with the fact that for a large part of the season he was taking an age to get his shots off as if he thought he was still in Leverkusen and they were getting blocked?
27 Mar 2026 20:13:58.
Elliott Anderson will end up at United or Chelsea.
Good player though a bit limited when it comes to skill and passing ability.
I think there is better players for us to sign.
Ederson at Atalanta or Sadiki at Sunderland are both excellent.
I also think Stiller at Stufgart would be a good option as would Trinidade at Wolves.
I am keen to see a marquee signing on the right, Olise for me and someone really good on the left, Barcola for me, but not attainable, so maybe Diomande.
3
27 Mar 2026 23:15:29.
I thought he was almost certainly going to City, but I don’t know how true that is. If I’m honest I’d love him at Liverpool. Gold knows how much we have as well.
If I’m talking same amount spend as last summer, I’d like:
Anderson, Wharton, Gray (if Tottenham go down).
Let Jones and McAllister leave. Geertruida would also be a good buy for his versatility.
For wing two of Diomande, Fofana and Akliouchi, with Gakpo leaving.
We will also have Jacquet and Leoni, plus Bradley back.
2
27 Mar 2026 23:48:08
I'd add Vuksovic to that wishlist, RJ.
3
28 Mar 2026 04:08:18
Vuskovic definitely. Gertruida, I agree, is a good option, can cover CB too.
Fofana, no way. Hardly played all season, injury problems, that's a hard no, thanks.
Diomande, yes please, but not attainable, £70-80m, he hasn't done enough to warrant that cost.
Kayode for RB would be nice.
Wharton, no thanks, no better than MacAllister.
Barcola, yes please. The boy is world class, despite some on here disagreeing.
2
28 Mar 2026 07:06:47
No names, but positions would be:
Rb
Ch
Cm x 2
Versatile defender
Forward
Pace and power the key attributes, though - and robustness. Please no more lightweight, one-paced snowflakes.
27 Mar 2026 19:14:38
Question for everyone: it has often happened that players have blossomed at Liverpool even though they tanked in other clubs before coming to us (Salah at Chelsea is the obvious example). But what are the examples of players who tanked at Liverpool but then turned into superstars after they left us?
1
27 Mar 2026 20:54:41
Steve Ogrizovic.
8
27 Mar 2026 21:06:37
It's a short list, to be honest. Most players who succeeded after playing for us were good players for us first.
Steve Staunton might be a shout? Was always a decent player, but cemented his legacy at Villa.
3
27 Mar 2026 21:11:41
Our next manager was very good when he played for us, but got better when he left us.
4
27 Mar 2026 21:27:16
Sterling made his name more at City than us?
Suso and Riera are 2 players that we, on the boards, have discussed bringing back.
Galusci was also discussed.
There have been others who have had long careers in the top 5 leagues, but the ones above are the main ones I can think of recently.
1
27 Mar 2026 21:28:56
Luis Alberto apparently done well when he left.
Harry Wilson springs to mind. Whatever happened to Benteke, or am I dreaming that he played for us???
Arbeloa done well at Madrid too.
3
27 Mar 2026 21:34:06
Iago Aspas and Luis Alberto are the most recent that spring to mind. Both went on to have good careers after failing to really make an impact for us. To be fair, though, Aspas had done pretty well in Spain before we signed him. Peter Gulacsi has also had a really good career.
3
27 Mar 2026 21:35:12
Aspas is still doing alright at Celta Vigo.
Also Luis Suarez didn't have a bad career after us. Not too sure whether to put Kelleher on the list yet as he needs to prove consistency first.
2
27 Mar 2026 21:38:07
Showing my age here, but Kevin Sheedy.
6
27 Mar 2026 21:40:07
Suso.
1
27 Mar 2026 21:53:31
Neco Williams ain't doing bad at Athletic Club. ;)
4
27 Mar 2026 21:57:17
Not superstars tho!
0
27 Mar 2026 22:11:45
Brad Friedel. Not a superstar, but super keeper imo. Looked v poor for us in his short stint and then went on to be an excellent keeper for years, much better than what we had in nets after he left.
4
27 Mar 2026 22:18:13
Alou Diarra. Didn't get a game at Liverpool. Went on to win the French league with two different clubs, French Cup with another, and 44 caps for France and a World Cup runners-up medal.
3
27 Mar 2026 22:20:49
Alou Diarra.
0
27 Mar 2026 23:53:00
Friedel is a great shout, Digger.
Anelka also went through a few decent spells later in his career after he left us.
1
28 Mar 2026 04:13:12
Iago Aspas, Steve Staunton, Luis Suarez, McManaman did good at Real. More recently, Harry Wilson is doing well.
The list is fairly small, though tbh.
1
28 Mar 2026 07:14:39
Khelleher is doing well and would take him back as Ali's successor.
0
28 Mar 2026 07:15:44
Mis read that question, thought it was who we would take back.
0
28 Mar 2026 07:26:13
Surely Xabi is the foremost example? He was a super player for us, but he became one of the greatest midfielders in footballing history at Real and continued being great at an advanced age at Bayern.
He went up one or two levels after leaving us, though that didn't have to do with leaving us, since he was already beginning to exhibit that kind of form when he left.
Mascherano would be another example, I guess.
0
28 Mar 2026 07:39:37
The post says tanked. Suarez/Alonso/Mascherano/Anelka didn't play bad for us, so I wouldn't include them.
Diarra
Suso
Alberto
Wilson (didn't get the chance)
Neco (same as above)
Aspas
Gulasci
Coates
Solanke? Was very young
Ryan Kent - carved a decent career in SPL
Coady? Never broken through but had a decent career.

28 Mar 2026 08:15:12
Ah right, Kloppers, silly me, I missed that part.
Some of the vast baffling signings ever. I've taken some liberties with a LB at CB. Sorry Cissokho.
0
27 Mar 2026 21:14:12
Jimmy Carter would be the first name on any team sheet and would be the captain of the team.
0
27 Mar 2026 21:39:32
Samed Yesil.
5
27 Mar 2026 22:03:43
Bogdan
Kromkamp
Kabak
Piechnik
Dicks
Stewart
Poulsen
Ferri
Joke Hole
Balotelli
Diouf
I think that's an all timer of shite.
1
27 Mar 2026 20:22:10
Peggy should never be mentioned in any Liverpool conversation
To be laughing in a audience of remembering our lost 96
He needs to be abolished from any conversation Liverpool related
2
27 Mar 2026 22:10:31
Joe Cole, David Ngog, Jay Spearing, Mark Kennedy, Laser Markovic, Brad Jones, Danny Wilson, Ben Davies, Josemi, Jan Kromkamp, Cisse, Djimi Traore, Jean Michel Ferri and Eric Meijer.
0
27 Mar 2026 22:44:10
Why no mention of Aqualani.
0
27 Mar 2026 23:41:35
Don't forget Charlie Adams Lol.
0
27 Mar 2026 23:56:59
Gazza, at least get the right person before you slander poor Peggy. You mean Charles Itandje. You're getting you're French black goalkeepers mixed up.
2
28 Mar 2026 00:53:50
I had to read Joke Hole twice before getting it.
I was imagining a funny fanny.
2
28 Mar 2026 01:40:47
To be fair, Zed, Cole is a bit of a fanny.
0
28 Mar 2026 04:18:32
Aquilani, Igor Biscan, Sean Dundee, Eric Meier, David Ngog, Le Pellec, El Hadji Diouf, Konchesky, Julian Dicks, Razor Ruddock, The Ukrainian boy with the pony.
0
28 Mar 2026 08:29:12
Itandje, Sinama Pongolle, Voronin, Ibe, Antonio Nunez, Milan Jovanovic, Arthur, Andy Carroll, Shelvey, Doni, Wisdom, Samed Yesil, Diego Cavalieri, Insua, Degen, Pacheco, Le Tallec, Dossena.

28 Mar 2026 08:46:14
So what this post is saying is that we've purchased our fair share of dodgy footballers over the years. 🤣
Who
Would you guys go for if you could have Elliott or Wharton?
I really like Elliot Anderson myself.
YNWA.
2
{Ed001's Note - I don't think Wharton has improved under Glasner, if anything regressed, so I would avoid him as he brings similar issues to Mac Allister.}
12
27 Mar 2026 19:02:03
I have to say I haven't been overly impressed with Wharton this season and I was an advocate of his signing last season. He's too safe but at a new club, under a new manager? Who knows. 🤷♂️
4
27 Mar 2026 19:33:23
Willing to give Wharton another chance given Palace have been chaotic on and off it. If we're basing players off this season alone, I'd never sign a Liverpool player minus one or two.
0
27 Mar 2026 20:07:36
Wharton clearly has exceptional vision and passing ability, and whilst I haven't watched him much, I have never been overly impressed with his mobility or domination of the midfield, which should be the priority in my opinion.
I haven't seen Anderson play much either, to be honest, so couldn't comment on him.
I'd probably be going for someone like Baleba, Kone or Stiller.
1
27 Mar 2026 19:10:00
Ed001 our midfield does not looked balanced with Gravenberch as the number 6 I would love a Fabinho type player there and then Sobs and Wirtz.
Apart from Slot's training or lack of and his tactics what your views on who should play there from what we have and who do you think could bring a more balance to the team.
0
{Ed001's Note - it has to be Szobo and Gravy and just make sure Gravy sits.}
4
27 Mar 2026 20:26:23
Maybe me...
I was never convinced by Xhaka at Arsenal.
Okay. A slower league, but he looked good under Alonso at BL.
Tactically, I'm hoping Alonso can transform Gravenberch into something better than what he was last season and progress him as a player.
With Dom and Wirtz in front of him, with decent back ups that are used from the bench, we should push on for next season.
3
27 Mar 2026 21:54:57
Buy both Wharton and Anderson. Different skill sets to help create a balanced midfield.
0
27 Mar 2026 23:49:35
Gazza827, what makes you think Alonso will be at Liverpool next season? He won't be.
27 Mar 2026 15:20:01
Always liked Salah when he was at Basel and was pretty peeved when he went to Chelsea. I was really excited when he eventually made his way back and signed for us, but never in my wildest dreams did I think he'd go on to do the things he did.
13
27 Mar 2026 16:41:45
Clicked send too early. Thank you Mo, I feel very blessed to have seen you at your best and in a Liverpool shirt. Absolute legend. I feel like we've said goodbye to quite a few lately. We've really been treated to some phenomenal players over the last decade or so.
7
27 Mar 2026 16:49:00
I thought he was gonna be a backup to Sadio 😂😂. Oh, how wrong I was.
In my defence, though, they did play on the same side at the time.
2
27 Mar 2026 17:01:11
Personally, I always knew, back to his Basel days, what he was going to become.
I saw a few clips on thought.
We sign that guy, and he will go down as an all time great, breaking loads of scoring and assist records.
Probably pick up about 2 league titles and Champions League with that guy, I thought.
I could just tell, from the way he moved, that was going to happen. Just an excellent judge of player, I guess.
6
27 Mar 2026 17:15:24
LFC 8, according to the latest Klopp interview, Salah had the same fears as you.
0
27 Mar 2026 18:13:56
I also loved him at Basel and really really wanted to sign him that January. So glad we got him when we did.
What is the Klopp interview, please?
0
27 Mar 2026 18:45:50
Magnificent, Davey. I always said you were great. From the beginning. No, before.
1
27 Mar 2026 18:47:09
I was also pretty peeved when he went to Chelsea, and was excited again when we were linked with him. Same though, I never thought he would achieve what he has done. Total club legend.
I'll always be a bit bummed out thinking that he could have carried on with us had he just been used more effectively had he been accommodated by a better manager, but hey ho.
Onwards, upwards and blessed to have watched him smash up the Prem for the last decade.
0
27 Mar 2026 18:51:43
Remember seeing him at Basel absolutely destroying some of the best defenders in European football, his pace was electric. I'm sad to see him go, but he's leaving on good terms and he's given his best years to the club. Deserves nothing but respect for his contribution and brilliance.
4
27 Mar 2026 18:51:59
Mourinho literally signed Salah to stop us from signing him.
1
27 Mar 2026 20:46:08
TSK, you're 100% right. He was signed to stop us getting him. They also did same with Debruner. Stop United getting him. But that's Josey all over and Chelsea.
27 Mar 2026 14:47:28
Anyone else catch Jurgens' interview with the Anfield Wrap? Interesting regards Salah. A question for the older supporters, though. Jurgen had this aura about him, a natural leader who you'd fight to impress and perform for. Was it similar to Shanks?
1
27 Mar 2026 15:05:41
Shanks was of the age of great managers, KP
Revie, Busby, Bill Nicholson, Joe Mercer & I think Everton had a decent bloke in charge back then!
They all had the ability to get great players to perform and lesser players to play above themselves and Klopp falls into that bracket probably more than any modern day managers I can think of - I suppose Fergie comes close.
Jose & Pep, although great managers, are a bit different imo in that they seem very rigid and almost it's my way or the highway, but they've all had the aura about them.
3
27 Mar 2026 16:40:16
I could listen to Jurgen talking all day and not just about football. He has that ability to captivate an audience, with people just waiting on his every word. Shankly seemed to have that as well from bits u would see on old footage of him talking.
V few people have that ability, Johan Cruyff would be another.
3
27 Mar 2026 17:23:55
Shoulda gone to Trivargo, Digger.
2
27 Mar 2026 19:20:08
Fergie didn't motivate his players, he motivated the refs instead.
2
27 Mar 2026 19:29:18
Show Sir Ribenaberry Whiskybaby some respect!
0
27 Mar 2026 20:55:25
Shankly and Klopp were very similar. There really is not a lot between them both.
When Shanks spoke, everybody listened. He did not make millions of pounds like Klopp, but to us Shanks was worth billions.
He could walk on water. He was the foundation of Liverpool FC.
Klopp was like a reincarnation of Shanks. We lost belief, but Klopp gave it back to us in bucket loads and took us to another level. YNWA.
