Two goals and a MOTM performance just hours after joining WBA, fair play Rickie all the best

I am ashamed that we took a strong gifted England regular, a lifelong fan desperate to play for the club - and never gave him a chance! One minute at the end of a game to show what you can do! It's as big a mystery to me as our treatment of Robbie Keane. Good luck Rickie !

Agree with snowyred, massive shame, thought they'd defo be a place at liverpool for a good few years as he offers something different in attack and he links up so well up top too.
Best of luck rickie except against us!!

In truth, it was a mystery to me why we even signed Ricky Lambert in the first place.
Not to say he is not a good player ; I saw him physically bully Skrtel and Agger at St Marys when Southampton beat us 3-1. And he was part of their high press game. But he did battle a lot for high balls, set pieces and the like, holding up for midfield runners and the full backs bombing forward.
Was that Liverpool's game in 2013/14 ?
It was balls in to feet and into space down the flanks and over the top, swift counters.
I suppose that there were some similarities in the two styles, but Lambert was never going to get beyond the last defender. Him and Coutinho, for instance, were just not compatible.
And if his presence rendered Liverpool's most dangerous and creative player less effective, it was no wonder he wasn't selected.
So I don't know why people are saying that he was treated badly. It was just the wrong signing. What was the point ?

Is it just me but has anybody else noticed how better players play when away from rodgers even on loan.

Completely agree with the Juicer's assessment however I believe he could have had a significant impact if utilised properly as an alternative to Coutinho instead of being shoehorned into a role he wasn't physically capable of
