What a hard earned clever win.
Yes, we looked 'leggy' at times, but we proved what a team of grafters we are.
I'm still impressed with Southampton though who will fly with a quality striker.
Well done the red men; still marching on and still smothering the doubters.

really badly from the start of the season and fans voiced their frustration were they wrong to do so? or should we bow to your ego and smug reply? when Liverpool play bad i will be their critic, and when they play well i will praise them, i will always be a red and if i doubt BR or some player(S) i have that right.

Jackthelad - it's a note to people like yourself who were jumping at the chance to have a dig at the manager for each and every single thing that happened this season. So much so, that it seemed people were actually hoping we would lose just to spout more nonsense about the manager and show just how much they 'knew' about football, when it actually seems, as expected, those people knew very little indeed.
I'm not suprised this place has gotten a little quiet lately, humble pie isn't the best dish to keep eating week after week. I'm sure if we dip in form though, the usual suspects will be out in force.

We are 6th in the league. .out of the champions league to the mighty Basle. . my humble pie is making me choke!
Is it the negativity or honesty of some fans that achieved this lofty goal? No. clearly not. maybe it's the 100+ million these fans have spent to achieve 6th place. .
Whilst I admire your desire to support the current management, I find your desire to have a dig at those who don't a little shallow. You are clearly willing to give the manager the credit for the upturn in form that has achieved us the lofty 6th place. who do you think is responsible for putting us in the position that means that 23 out of 27 (or whatever) only gets us to 6th place?
Look at my posts. I was pro BR early in the season. but it is his stubborn desire to play mundane, ineffective, impotent football for the 1st half of every season that has us scrambling for champ league footy.
Take the credit for the good=take the fault for the bad!

Jackthelad is right, the fact remains that top four isn't going to be handed to us, and it's really just an outside chance for us. Considering that given the start of the season is both terrible to consider and lies at the managers feet and at the same time he must be praised for turning it around. But realistically it's still a worry given he is far from a great manager, just a great coach.

Thank you boys for putting Hustle and Davey (BR`s no.1 fan no matter what) and their ilk in their rightful, pathetic places. They are ready to give the manager credit when things go well then make excuses for him when things go bad and these bad things are clearly his fault. They come here to gloat as if they know more than the rest of us while in reality, they are disingenuous and support the manager beyond logic just to prove they are better fans than the rest of us. The manager is NOTHING but an employee who if he does not meet expectations, will be shown the door regardless of your pathetic and disingenuous suppositions, your willingness to sweep all his blunders and mistakes under the rug, and the amount of excuses you make for him.
N BTW, 4th place was not one of the promises your idol BR made to the owners so he is still staring down the barrel and facing the sack because as of now, we are 6th.

For the record Davey, Jamie Carragher said yesterday that he doubted Rodgers could turn it around. Are you going to slate him for it?
It is natural to doubt a manager when things are going badly.
He has proved everyone wrong since December with the run he has put together and fair play to the manager and the team for that.

Actually RedOhio, no-one has put me in my place. I've actually been sleeping and have only just read this waffle 5 minutes ago, and it's a good job I skimmed the post or I may have fallen back to sleep again.
I think you'll find like most people on this site, I was as disappointed as most with the start of our season, the only difference was I wasn't crying and flailing my arms around asking for the manager to be sacked after 10 games. Nor was I looking with a microscope at everything the manager did and writing about it on this website to highlight to other supposed Liverpool fans. Some of the posts on here, actually most, were downright embarrassing. From formations, to team sheets, to tactical nous, to press conferences, to man management, to coaching methods, to academies, to transfers, to the clubs structure, you name it. Post after post all highlighting the negative effects the manager was having on all areas of the club - even to the point where people were saying he was destroying the club. What?? Absolute nonsensical waffle. So, like a few others on here that were asking for a bit of patience, I'm not suprised that it's gone quiet on here and the usual suspects don't have anything to write because they're struggling to tear holes in what the manager is doing at the moment. But like I said, as soon as we slip up, we'll see those same names back on the site posting more in depth footballing knowledge for us to read. It was never a case of not being critical of the manager or of the team, as at the beginning of the season we were very poor, it was the fact that it turned into a sad, pathetic attempt to belittle each and every facet of the manager.

Sad and pathetic is what your post is, which is just a personal attack on other people, rather than showing any knowledge of the game yourself.
