So, Eds. Who would you see as the kind of quality left back we need to be our new number 3? I'm not convinced Guerreiro is the answer. We need somebody first team ready that won't need to do too much adapting. Is Erkin good enough you think? Or who would you like that we can realistically get?

Thanks very much.

{Ed001's Note - I don't know, I haven't seen anyone play consistently well at left back. I know a lot rave about Rodriguez of Wolfsburg, but every time I see him play he is awful.}

It's a tricky one alright. A reliable and available, defensively sound, left-footed, left-back, who is a threat going forward. That's a pretty rare breed. I see Jetro Willems is back from injury and racking up assists already. I'll be watching all the left-backs at the Euros with interest to see who impresses and can fill the role for us.

So, Robbie Brady it is then. ;)
Or else we'll just watch Flanno develop into an Azpilicueta type.

{Ed001's Note - please God no, not Brady! Liam Brady would be better even at his age now.}

Flanagan and smith i would be more then comfortable with at LB.

Hahaha yeah, I was joking of course. Although, I'm Irish, so will be hoping for a good tournament from him. I
t's impossible to pick anyone now I think anyway. Willems was decent against Atletico without being very good. But he's not match fit yet, so we'll see how he gets on at the Vicente Calderón.

Or else we just wait for Phil Babb and Djimi Traoré's love child to come of age. :)

I would switch Flanno or Clyne there while Smith learns the game because at least, Flanno can defend excellently why Clyne is not that bad at defending either. Moreno? He needs to get shot of because even I can defend better than him.

I think he's already at the club in Brad Smith. Flannagan and Smith to fight it out. Gomez is a possibility also.

Flanno? He beasted it before his injury, sure he can do so again. He's a surprisingly accomplished player, really neat in possession, reads the game well - he isn't a fashionable name and he isn't going to skin 3 people down the wing, but he does everything important well.

KK gets the credit for getting us Flanno. He gave him his debut vs wait for it, City in 2011 and had a blinder in a game we thrashed them 3-0 with AC scoring twice. From that moment, I knew this kid was legit and hasn`t lost a step even after 20 months out with injury. Take a bow, son.

I agree with the above. I don't think we need to panic buy at LB, with Smith a natural in that position, albeit still with stuff to learn, and Flanno, Clyne and Gomez all having played in the position with success in the past.
