Although I believe Coutinho will still be a Liverpool player when the window shuts, If he is going to leave we should look to bring in Fabregas. An experienced playmaker who knows the Premier League very well. His age may be a problem for some fans, but at short notice I cannot think of many more who would be more suited. And available too.

Experienced yes but far too similar to the players we have plenty of. And zero pace.

Don't need pace to find the right pass and he's done it for years. be like a mcallister buy that but don't think will happen.

Yes bring fabregas in who I see anti-klopp football is lazy and barley gets a game for Chelsea. That'll take Liverpool forward. Or buy energetic enthusiastic football.

I disagree (and agree with oP) been saying for ages we seem to fail in the middle of the season because we lack leadership in the middle of the park to keep us focused, I reckon Fabregas would bring that to the table and do it much better than hendo. As for pace, I recall Jan Molby being an amazing midfield player and he wasn't exactly Usian Bolt was he!

I also suggested, if couts goes, we get Zlatan for a season. With studge probably only going to play half this season without injuring himself, we could get a 25 goal a season player on a free. Does it then matter we pay him £250k a week? It will cost us £10m or so for a season with him, not sure where else we could get 25 goals for £10m?

Re Couts, i hate to say it but my gut feeling is we will lose him now. Not playing tomorrow and having a back injury (seems to be a common injury for all the players looking to leave their clubs. bit like having to tom tits if you work in an office! ) sounds to me like he is gone and won't play for us again. I hope I am wrong and he stays and commits, but I think it's past that - and who can really blame a 25 year old wanting to go play for probably the best club out there with the best player in the world?!

Fabregas came third last season in most distance covered in the league. One place behind Lallana. He is most certainly not lazy and he could find space in a packed phone box that boy.

For all your fabregas bashing Chelsea won't even consider a bid for him so that tells you not berate a player that has for most part of his early career carried the most fluent one touch football playing team in EPL and in latter part of his career won cl, la liga, premier league.

{Ed001's Note - that is because they have sold the rest of their midfield, not because he is any good.}
