Ed0666 I saw your posts down the page about the potential purchase of RS. Now here is my take on things Ed0666 if I may. When Liverpool were about to sign Ox to say I questioned his arrival is a massive understatement. Ox went on to make me eat my words before his unfortunate injury against Roma. So the point I'm trying to make is JK is the manager and knows a hell of a lot more about football than I do obviously. He saw something in Ox clearly I didn't so I'm hoping that it will be the same result with RS. Only time will tell but I trust JK and whoever he get's in I'll support them 100% YNWA.

It doesn’t make sense to me, buying Sanches when we could have just improved Wijnaldum’s contract?
I’d rather have a 30 years old Gini Wijnaldum than Renato Sanches tbh.
Head scratcher that.

{Ed001's Note - better with neither. Both a waste of wages, but of the two Gini is a much better player, so you have a point.}

Elliot is my Gini replacement, and will be at least twice the player Gini ever was in the next 2-3 seasons.
Renato is bang average, another Naby. Rather wait a season for someone like Bellingham or Gravenberch.

OP has a point cos Ox made me eat my words as well and I’m still a huge fan of his. As for Sanches, yeah Gini is clearly the better player and we can clearly do a lot better than him. That said, I think the kid is a good player who has risen from the ashes of his Bayern and Swansea nightmares to where he is and that is huge credit to his mentality and desire to not be denied and be written off.

Klopp clearly sees something in the kid he can work with and improve. I don’t expect him to be a starter right off as he will need easing in fair bit. As for Bellingham and all those? Ain’t going to happen anytime soon. Just my take.

Ox made us all eat our words, in terms of perfomance and quality, unfortunately not in terms of appearances and injuries.

I used to be able to get complimentary tickets for Swansea fixtures through work and to say Sanchez was poor at the Swans is an understatement. Their fans actually enjoy proper football and they couldn’t wait to get rid of him and I can’t remember off the top of my head but if memory serves me right they might have even terminated his loan early, or if they didn’t there was def reports they were looking too.

But for me If he was to come in then it’s a totally clean slate as what a player does before us makes no difference. We’ve had lots of players who scored for fun before they came in and then couldn’t hit a barn door. It’s what they do with that Liver bird on their chest that counts.

He wouldn’t be my first choice but like every other fan out there I have 0% say in who we sign so if he were to come in he’d get my full backing

With regards to Wiji I find it strange that Origi gets legendary status for us for scoring 2 goals against Barcelona even though he’s not offered much else in the other seasons. Let’s not forget someone else scored 2 goals that night and then contributed far more in our CL, World club cup and Premier league wins. He was poor last season but so were the majority.

Klopps first choices are weird when it comes to it. he wanted draxler, then there something on with goetze, then he had eyes on brandt, Then we had a look at a defender whose name skips my mind when we got vvd, then he wanted that schalke lad kabak, then he wanted traore and now sanches.

And we didn't sign any if them. So either club is making a fool of us and media throwing out wrong names or klopp recommends players w. o his glasses on.

Swapping Gini who’s never injured with Sanchez who is always injured. Awful.

Never ceases to amaze me how within half a dozen posts a rumour is accepted as something that is definitely happening and the moaning begins.

We really shouldn’t be relying on Elliott to be anything other than a promising young player, I don’t want to see him get thrown in to too many games at this point.
As it stands, we look vulnerable in midfield to me.
If we were playing Leeds United on Saturday I’d be worried.
