Ed 001 do you know much about Paul Mitchell at Monaco who used to be at spurs? Rumours on twitter we are interested in him to replace ward. Any good?
{Ed001's Note - not really, his recruitment record is, at very best, mixed. Some good signings, but a lot of crap mixed in with it. He made his name really at Southampton, and before that at MK Dons working with Karl Robinson. But I have no idea why he was held in such high regard as his record of signings is not outstanding by any stretch of the imagination. For every good player, he seems to sign a handful of pups. Admittedly at Spurs his job was made more difficult by Levy, but his record does not look that impressive to me. And he has not exactly put Monaco into orbit with his recruitment there either.}

If it meant no more Lijnders signings I'd take Phil Mitchell as director of football.

What "Ljinders signings"?
Gapko who's had 4 games? Nunez? Diaz? They're our last 3 big ones. And I think most would agree that two of them at least are good. Are they Ljinders signings or Klopp signings?
Has there even been a Ljinders signing?
Or because we don't like him, is he only responsible for Arthur, perhaps?
{Ed001's Note - Jota maybe? He is certainly someone Lijnders championed. Not so sure that can be held against him though. I am not Jota's biggest fan as a first choice player, but he is an excellent rotation option/bench player.}

I look forward to seeing who the new sporting director will be. I hope we get someone in place sooner rather than later as we now have a lot more work to do - more than at any point in Klopp's tenure.
While I have no idea about how talented Julian Ward is, his affinity with Portugal and relationship with Jorge Mendes has probably proven useful during his relatively short time in the role.

Joking, but from what I can see he brought the likes of Son, Trippier, Alli and Alderweld to Spurs. Which is great, but nobody is mentioning the utter dross he signed along with it like Vincent Janssen, Moussa Sissoko and Lewis Holtby.

Ed001, I tend to agree with your assessment of Jota. I like him very much as a rotation player option off the bench. I think he'd be excellent supporting Darwin as a replacement off the bench.
I think Gakpo will also be an excellent replacement option for Diaz on the left wing too. that's the role I see him filling. He's not a CF.
{Ed001's Note - Gakpo has defo performed best in the wide areas. I could see him being a very good option to play off another forward as well, if there is a need to switch to two up top.}

yes i can see him playing with nunez in a two as well. with it all being a bit of a shambles right now we can't judge him too harshly.
