Guela Doue is being linked with us, he is 23 year old right back playing for Strasbourg & Ivory Coast. Was meant to join up with Chelsea, but not happening now as Palestra is signing.
24 Jun 2026 18:46:17
Latest rumour is Fran Garcia. Real Madrid's lb who played under Iraola. Last year of deal could be available for less than Β£10m.
24 Jun 2026 20:22:30
A very good Spanish friend of mine is a Real Madrid fanatic and works for the club in some capacity. I asked him about Fran Garcia, and he texted me the following
' Hi Bro, he defends very well on the left side, good physical condition for Premier, not really π about technic but good attitude.'
No idea what he's talking about, but I hope someone can work it out.
π
24 Jun 2026 20:50:56
I think he comes in for Tsimikas.
24 Jun 2026 21:15:32
Honestly, don't see the point of another non HG left back. Waste of a non HG space. Chambers or Beck would make more sense as a back up.
24 Jun 2026 21:48:27
If Kerkez had a long injury, I wouldn't be comfortable with just Chambers or Beck.
24 Jun 2026 22:08:35
There's absolutely no reason to think Kerkez will have a bad injury, AZ, and both Beck & Chambers are capable left backs. Waste of a non HG space to give it to a mediocre Spanish left back.
24 Jun 2026 22:11:33
I can't even work out what Bro means.
24 Jun 2026 22:23:11
Even Alan Turing couldn't work that one out lads. π€
24 Jun 2026 23:05:23
Viktor, Beck is injury prone and about to turn 24. His future is elsewhere. Chambers had a good loan, but needs another one. Same with Scanlon.
24 Jun 2026 23:24:57
Still, rather not waste a non HG space on a mediocre Real Madrid cast off. Non HG spaces are like gold dust.
24 Jun 2026 23:25:28
AZ,
Chambers and Beck will never play for Liverpool's first team. I don't get how so many social media supporters think every kid in the Academy should get games in the first team. Do they want to support a mid-table team struggling to get a Conference League spot? Chambers and Beck are at the older end of the Academy groups and their chance has passed.
24 Jun 2026 23:34:02
Their chance? They never got one. Never seen them given an opportunity, as they are always on loan.
24 Jun 2026 23:39:14
Not saying they should be first choice, Kemlyn, saying one of them is more than capable as back up. It makes absolutely no sense spunking money on Real Madrid dross to waste a non home grown space, because that's what signing Garcia would amount to.
25 Jun 2026 00:27:01
If Tsimikas comes back, doesn't he take that hg spot, Viktor? In theory you can have no home grown players in the squad. It just means the squad size is reduced to 22.
25 Jun 2026 00:55:42
The day we have no home grown players in our squad will be the day the club loses its identity.
Everyone is clamouring for foreign players in the league. There are players out there losing chances due to mediocre players being signed. We need to find a better way to balance the teams.
Players coming into the league in their mid 20's are going to be a quick fix and the kids will never get a chance.
It is time to incentivise teams to use academy players or sign from the Championship. Football is leaving the working class behind and we are all cheering for it. It won't be long before we are priced out of going to a match. You can forget about bringing your family to the match as these mediocre players need paid through the nose.
25 Jun 2026 01:31:57
Bring Trent home. π
25 Jun 2026 01:33:38
Why have a youth academy if we are so adverse to using it? The main criticism aimed at Slot was that he didn't use our youth players enough and here are two LBs from our academy who have had multiple good seasons out on loan and should be more than capable to make up our squad, but we are now saying they should be sold in favour of bringing in an older LB instead.
I'm with Vik on this. There is no need to bring in an LB to be back up when we have Tsimikas, Beck, and Chambers still with us. Even if Tsimikas is sold, Beck and Chambers should be more than enough to be back up to Kerkez.
25 Jun 2026 02:01:57
I think we should buy the best three players in the world for each position in the team. Doesn't automatically mean we'd have the best squad or team in the world...
24 Jun 2026 10:07:48.
Hello all,
Chelsea met with Diomande's agents on Monday, the message was clear from them.
Diomande only wants Liverpool.
Ta.
24 Jun 2026 11:32:07
Cheers, Carra.
Chelsea are insane in the market no matter where they finish in the league.
24 Jun 2026 11:32:37
Carra,
You are awesome and really appreciate this. Have no doubt, it is correct as well.
However. π π
This fills me with dread, as I am a Semenyo, Alonso, and Guehi survivor...
24 Jun 2026 11:46:48
Hi Jurgenator, have no fear, Carra has already said he put his neck on the line. That's the equivalent of Romano's Here we go!
24 Jun 2026 11:53:01
Nice one, Carra. Thanks for all your work and all you do.
Pls, one thing I just saw. I read that we could be paying up to 130m for our Lil' Yan. Is any of this true, based on your knowledge of the matter?
Cheers, mate.
24 Jun 2026 12:28:42
Thanks Carra, seems like a weird negotiating tactic.
24 Jun 2026 12:46:24
No problem, Jurgenator, keep scrolling.
Ta.
24 Jun 2026 12:50:44
OliRed, in euros, with addons.
24 Jun 2026 13:14:25
I misread that, Chewy. Thought you said we were paying them I euros and strap ons.
24 Jun 2026 13:30:10
How can Chelsea keep going like this! Surely everything they are doing is going to come unstuck at some point?
24 Jun 2026 13:36:09
I don't think there is any negotiating to do, @Ron. By all accounts, Diomande has agreed terms with us and is just waiting for the clubs to come to a final agreement.
24 Jun 2026 13:42:25
Jurgenator, you're showing your youth, mate: Simao, Turan, Texairia. Every window for years.
At least the Babelcopter eventually landed. β½
24 Jun 2026 13:45:32
@Westwood, they have been brought to account on more than one occasion already and I thought they were under scrutiny last season.
24 Jun 2026 13:51:03
Cheers, Carra.
24 Jun 2026 14:42:11
Inbeta1989, π€£, make sure the missus never finds your search history, mate.
24 Jun 2026 14:47:57
Vamos, Carra.
Who's next targets?
Rightback Kayode?
Center MD Warton? Camara? Bouaddi?
24 Jun 2026 14:59:15
Thanks, Carra, let's get it done!
24 Jun 2026 15:04:14
Diomande must have said I don't want to go to Chelsea.
24 Jun 2026 15:13:02
He couldn't see the Attraction.
24 Jun 2026 15:51:00
It does not move him.
24 Jun 2026 16:13:17
Youth?
I was in the same year as Moses and Jesus in high school. π
Remember those very well!
24 Jun 2026 13:52:04
I want to know if the ITKs in this are saying the deal is done and the media are way behind then why are Chelsea in talks with this agent
24 Jun 2026 16:31:51
Phew, thanks Carra!
24 Jun 2026 17:46:10
I'm not sure how many people will get that post, Rigsby?
Ian Dury?
24 Jun 2026 18:00:55
Elvis Costello, Crisymate.
24 Jun 2026 18:30:02
Elvis Costello all day long. π
24 Jun 2026 19:35:35
It was Elvis Costello, as Willo and Barry said, Chrisy.
Sorry for the late reply, but I've had that old sitcom featuring Jasper Carrott and Robert Powell on.
I was watching The Detectives.
24 Jun 2026 22:23:44
What search history, Chewy? Mine magically disappears lol.
24 Jun 2026 08:37:44
Liverpool will walk away from the Diomande deal if they cannot reach an agreement by Sunday. Player has made his intentions clear that he wants the move now. Feeling is that this will get done. Over and out.
24 Jun 2026 09:25:38
Sounds like bad news.
Why the Sunday deadline? What happens on Monday that would jeopardise the deal?
24 Jun 2026 09:33:05
I'm shocked, staggered, and amazed that this hasn't been announced by the club.
24 Jun 2026 09:35:33
Nothing. It's called "nonsense".
24 Jun 2026 09:40:18
Any particular time on Sunday?
24 Jun 2026 09:46:39
Can they announce it by Sunday 3pm please? I'm busy washing my hair after that.
24 Jun 2026 09:46:43
I heard it is 8pm, @Robbo. Apparently, the club wants to be able to watch the first WC knockout game without the distraction of any ongoing negotiations ruining their viewing pleasure.
24 Jun 2026 09:52:20
He was pictured at his agency as he had time off between games. For me, it's all done, just got to sort the finances out with Leipzig.
24 Jun 2026 09:55:12
I thought the deal was agreed, and just waiting for the announcement. Getting worried now it's all gonna fall through.
24 Jun 2026 09:55:28
I think the fax machine isn't getting fixed till Sunday.
24 Jun 2026 09:55:48
Jokes aside, I could understand having a deadline both from a negotiation and sporting point of view.
I would guess they want to have it wrapped up before the Ivory Coast is eliminated (which I don't think will happen before Sunday).
24 Jun 2026 09:58:03
If there's no resolution after Sunday, can you change your name to Fiction not Facts?
24 Jun 2026 10:52:27
The OP is chatting total nonsense and/or has been on twatter/clickbait sites and reporting it as if they are 'ITK'
24 Jun 2026 11:52:22
Is it after Sunday brunch? Or do we have to wait for Happy Hour?
24 Jun 2026 12:55:11
Complete and utter nonsense. The transfer window's been open for only 9 days, as if we're putting a 2 week deadline on our biggest transfer. π€£ Pure bull.
24 Jun 2026 15:10:56
The fee for Diomande has been agreed, last few bits to iron out, won't dive in too deep.
But he's signing.
Cheers.
24 Jun 2026 16:18:56
Cheers, Robbo.
24 Jun 2026 18:39:29
Why would people be worried. If Robbo and Carra didn't keep us in the loop, we wouldn't have a clue what negotiation stage it is at. Never mind the fact he's just a player.
Worried about not signing him as if there aren't plenty of other targets. Not like he's a dead cert to be world class, and we're risking the chance to sign a prime Messi or Salah.
24 Jun 2026 19:39:22
OliRed, don't believe it cos they speak a different language and it's never really happened to me.
23 Jun 2026 21:28:50
Received from a friend from back when I worked in the Bundesliga (said friend is an agent who represents many German clubs)
"To be honest the sticking point is the fact they want him another year. If Liverpool were willing to buy and loan back for a year like they did with Keita, the deal would get very simple, very quickly.
You think they'd be interested?"
My friend does not represent Diomande or his club (far as I know), but agent networks are like sewing circles. Everyone knows everything.
23 Jun 2026 22:56:24
Maybe goes against Red Bull model... If players can't leave when a big club comes in, then there will be less incentive to sign for Red Bull in the first place... Red Bull Leipzig is a stepping stone for players to be showcased... If he wants to go, Red Bull has to sell.
23 Jun 2026 23:05:19
Liverpool can't afford to spend Β£100 million on a player and not have him join now. We need 2-3 new wingers for this season. Unfortunately for Diomande it's now or never.
23 Jun 2026 23:51:28
Can't imagine us going for that. We have a big gaping hole on the wing waiting for him right now. If he doesn't sign now, we will sign someone else and his path will be closed.
24 Jun 2026 00:41:52
How do you know what Liverpool's budget is and what they can or can't do @Potassium?
24 Jun 2026 01:17:59
Deal!
Oh, and by the way, we don't want to pay RBL any money for 5 years, is that ok?
24 Jun 2026 01:24:02
Let's buy a player fr a 100 mill n loan him out hahaha.
24 Jun 2026 01:58:07
Whatever you may have heard, Liverpool will absolutely not be going for a deal like that again. Aside from the fact that the Keita deal was one of the worst transfers in Liverpool's 134-year history, the selling club simply does not get to dictate a term like that when the buying club is paying just south of 100m GBP.
If Diomande doesn't perform well next season, then Red Bull will have also likely lost out on that money.
24 Jun 2026 02:37:19
I don't know if this is plausible, but if we could agree terms for a deal in principle for the 2027/28 season, then I would be ok with that.
That would lock in the cost, which you could budget for, and then we're not being held to ransom in a year's time, as well as not having an asset that we've currently allocated $100mil for today.
24 Jun 2026 03:54:01
Faith, why on earth would that be even a remotely good outcome for Liverpool?
1. You lock in 100m which now can't be used on other players unless you have a get-out clause, which almost makes the negotiations this summer a waste of time.
2. We don't get the player we want for another year, so we can't begin to build the future team fully.
3. Any poor periods of form will be lazily linked back to not getting Diomande this summer, rather than attributed to the actual cause.
The media will be fully onboard with this yet the fans will not.
4. Diomande's development may be negatively affected by an extra season at Leipzig (for all sorts of reasons, both physical and psychological).
There are no benefits to Liverpool paying 100m for a player to join in a year's time - none whatsoever. A superpower club simply wouldn't entertain such a ridiculous stipulation.
24 Jun 2026 04:23:07
I'm just trying to think of another type of business where people would think it was a good idea to buy something for a lot of money but let someone else use it for a year.
24 Jun 2026 06:32:47
@Potassium,
Houses. People frequently buy them and then never live in them and simply loan them to someone else perpetually.
24 Jun 2026 07:54:40
Yes, Nevada, but the people who loan them houses out are paid handsomely. Are RB going to deduct or pay us a 1/5 of the fee and cover all his expenses, wages... I doubt it. Ridiculous on their end.
24 Jun 2026 07:57:38
That's called real estate investment. Is that the business LFC and FSG are in now?
24 Jun 2026 08:52:56
I'd rather we didn't go for that, but imagine that they would agree to a fair bit less than 100mil if they get to keep him on loan for a year is the only guess I could make.
If it's still 100mil then they can foxtrot Oscar!
24 Jun 2026 09:35:18
@Lowe, didn't we do the same thing with Marmadashvili and Jacquet that we did with Naby?
24 Jun 2026 11:07:35
The difference from the Marma deal is that he was a back up, as we had Ali. We also weren't paying Β£100m. Can't recall the circumstances of the Keita deal, but it's a shame we bought him at all.
In terms of the reward to them of keeping him another year, and then selling at a fixed price, they must think he'll help them win more prize money.
For us, we gain little, given we have a desperate current need for a right winger. He could get injured with them, and we'd still be obliged to buy, etc.
It's probably just a negotiating position. If we add CL second-stage qualification prize winnings to the initial offer, that should be enough to seal the deal.
24 Jun 2026 11:33:37
Seems unlikely. More chance Diomande signing a new deal with them that includes a release clause.
24 Jun 2026 11:54:32
Nah, we ain't paying 100m for a player and loaning him out.
That's not a thing, I'm sorry.
24 Jun 2026 12:13:58
Since people asked, I sent a message to my friend to ask him if the deal would be the same value if Liverpool accepted the loan back for a year, and he said
"They'd probably be willing to accept a lower bid, maybe 20m or so less if Liverpool accepted the loan back for a year."
I personally doubt this will happen, because the player is needed right now, so I think we will just end up paying 120m to get him now instead.
That's only me guessing though.
24 Jun 2026 12:24:03
Aquilani bought him when injured and hardly featured at all, cost a few quid too. He was a really big mistake. Things happen, but mistakes continue anyway.
24 Jun 2026 13:21:37
Lowe, I said if we could agree a deal in principle for the following season then I'd be ok with that.
I didn't say that it would be good to lock in $100mil now and then send him back to Rbl for a season.
I didn't read the rest of your post after scratching my head at your first line.
24 Jun 2026 13:51:04
Does selling hotdogs at the stadium qualify as working in the Bundesliga now? π€£π€£π€£
23 Jun 2026 21:17:15
Diomande deal is close, no finer details.
Gakpo looks like leaving, if we get an offer around Β£70m he will be off. Barcola will be looked.
Minteh, Pardo are not of interest.
Macca wants to leave to Spain, will be one of the Madrid clubs.
Jones, as always, has been open to staying. Quoting Β£35 may attract Prem offers; if so, he could be moved.
We are interested in Palestra, just not a priority at the mo. I wouldn't be surprised if someone prompts us to move for him tho.
Bouaddi, Camara, Sangare, Wharton, Joao Gomes are what seems to be the main midfield shortlist.
There is interest in Gomez but as has always been the case, it's entirely up to him what he wants to do.
A potential 1 year extension on reduced terms has also been mooted for both Ali and Virgil.
Players like Mazza, Raitu are just world cup fever and won't happen. Plus, the gang of charlatans trying to get ahead of each other with most of the stuff they are spouting.
Rumours of Real sniffing around Dom and telling him they want him on a free are wide of the mark. They enquired about him as they want to make a statement signing.
Apologies for the rumour dump, playing catch up. π
23 Jun 2026 22:42:24
Brilliant, happy about everything you have said, Thefields!
23 Jun 2026 22:44:10
Thanks, The Fields, great information there!
Macca would be well suited to the Athletico Madrid shiphousery.
23 Jun 2026 22:54:49
Cheers, TheFields.
Chelsea have moved on Palestra, it seems. Will we act? Right back market is not a good one.
23 Jun 2026 23:05:45
Great info. Much appreciated.
23 Jun 2026 23:08:50
FPF, as far as I'm aware, it's just interest from Chelski. I'm not entirely sure he would want to go there and play 2nd fiddle to James. There was talk of them being interested in Frimpong. I've not been able to find anything out.
It came from someone who knows his agent; it may just be nothing, but from what I'm hearing. Sales will come later in the window to give Iraola more time to assess the squad. So we will know more then.
23 Jun 2026 23:15:11
Cheers, TheFields.
Well, someone did move for Palestra, and that someone is Chelsea. They've had a bid accepted for him, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano. He also confirmed Inter will not match Chelsea's 50 million euros plus 5 million in add-ons.
One thing that may or may not mean anything is Fabrizio's wording. He said Palestra still needs to give the green light to the Chelsea move.
It could mean nothing, though.
Personally, I think he could do very well under Iraola and in his system. Plus, he can play right-back and left-back to the same level, which is pretty impressive.
As things stand, though, it looks like Chelsea are getting a free run at him, with Inter not matching the bid and no one else seemingly in the running.
23 Jun 2026 23:17:14
Cheers for big update, Fields. If that's right about Szob, then that's positive. I'm really hoping he stays and signs a new long term deal. I really like him and think he could get even better under Iraola.
23 Jun 2026 23:33:06
Great update, Fields, nice one mate.
23 Jun 2026 23:49:49
Cheers, TheFields. Appreciate it.
24 Jun 2026 07:19:31
Ratiu - World Cup fever? Someone had better tell Romania that they have qualified for the World Cup!
24 Jun 2026 07:20:59
Cheers, TheFields. Keep the info flowing.
24 Jun 2026 07:22:06
I'd say Palestra is 100% a priority. This position needs addressing straight away.
24 Jun 2026 07:47:06
Palestra confirmed to Chelsea by Fabrizio. Wonder who we target.
24 Jun 2026 07:59:14
How is it entirely up to Gomez what he does?
24 Jun 2026 08:20:50
Thank you, Fields. π₯Ή
24 Jun 2026 08:46:12
Gakpo wants to leave as his dad is no longer manager.
24 Jun 2026 08:49:24
Thanks for everything, TF. π
24 Jun 2026 08:50:15
Fields Β£100m+ from Madrid for Sobs what's your thoughts and everyone else's.
Big decision that, as a player, I love his energy, work rate, got great technique, but he did have his head up his own arse a good bit last season.
24 Jun 2026 09:31:55
Thanks Field.
Palestra is now "here we go" to Chelsea. I will be gutted to lose him as Field mentioned as top on our list, as such a promising player and can play both sides.
24 Jun 2026 11:36:49
Chelsea love to annoy me. Palestra looks a fantastic prospect. I don't see him as a wing back. He's a right back.
24 Jun 2026 14:21:35
In regard to Palestra, as far as I'm aware, nothing is agreed with Chelski, and as I've said before, he wants the move to us. I wouldn't be surprised if we hijack the move, as I know his agent has been in contact with us since Chelski made their move.
24 Jun 2026 17:07:28
I'd happily pay them to sign Frimpongadingdong as well as paying them for Palestra.
23 Jun 2026 20:49:31
Looks like Chelsea are going to get Palestra. So much for their financial challenges eh?
23 Jun 2026 21:45:29
They have loads of youth players to sell. I wouldn't worry about Chelsea.
23 Jun 2026 22:03:09
Or they could sell the stadium for Chelsea to Chelsea FC.
23 Jun 2026 22:27:15
A few posts said he was our preferred choice, but he can't have been as I'm sure we could have offered an attractive deal as well as CL football. Maybe Kayode.
23 Jun 2026 22:27:18
Who said they have financial challenges? FFP is over, so their massive loss last year means nothing. They also just sold Cucurella for around Β£55m, Gusto looks like he's leaving, and it's possible they get Β£120m for Fernandez.
Β£40m for either Delap or Jackson or both. Tosin, Badiashile, Disasi will probs fetch Β£50m or so between all 3. Garnacho might go & Gittens loaned. All in all, if they sell Fernandez with all the above, they'll likely raise around Β£400m.
23 Jun 2026 22:35:05
I wouldn't pay 4p for Delap. I seriously don't get what the hype is about. I don't even think he was good at Ipswich.
23 Jun 2026 22:41:42
Chelsea's net spend is +90m since Slot came in. Palestra is a rwb.
24 Jun 2026 00:46:00
He will need to be a very good RWB indeed, if he gets a game ahead of James.
24 Jun 2026 01:02:20
WDW, apparently he's equally as capable on the Left, which is why he's become Chelsea's #1 pick.
24 Jun 2026 09:37:26
@Fuser, I stand corrected, I wasn't aware that he could cover both flanks. π
23 Jun 2026 20:27:26
Realistically how many players and what positions do you think we will have filled come the end of the window and who do you think we will have sold?
I reckon we will end up with a RB, CB, x2 CM x2 Wingers plus Munoz and Jaquet then Elliot and Tsimikas back in the squad.
Gakpo
Jones/Macca (maybe both)
Chiesa
To be sold
Nyoni
Bajetic
McConnell
Beck
Will Wright
Danns
All out on loan with a few more I can't think of right now.
Diomande & Barcola to sign along with a surprise midfielder and CB.
How would we feel? I reckon I'd be more than happy with that but it's a bit greedy haha!
23 Jun 2026 21:00:58
No, keep the kids around. Give them chances this year (Milk Cup, FA Cup). Why replace kids with experience for kids with none?
23 Jun 2026 21:19:26
Scouse John LB, I think the kids might be ineligible for the Milk Cup mate... probs not even a glint in the milkman's eye in them days. πβ
23 Jun 2026 21:30:47
Scouse John L8, I love the fact it's not just me that still calls it the Milk Cup!
24 Jun 2026 00:33:08
Difficult one, and depends massively on players leaving, I think.
Salah's replacement is obvious. Hoping Diomande comes through.
I don't think we will sign a CB, although I think we should. Depends on if Gomez leaves, which I don't think he will.
RB will depend on if we consider Frimpong a RB or an attacker. Given we seem to be only going for one more predominately right sided winger in Diomande, that leaves room for a RB to cover Bradley's injury spell. Kayode would be great.
Definitely need some steel in central mid. Anderson would be my dream, but anyone with some bite would do. Will Jones and Macca's potential sales push this forward? Personally I'd give McConnell a chance and bring Elliot back into the fold.
If Gakpo leaves, then bring in Barcola.
Nunez on a free is a no brainer, imo, but perhaps Munoz can cover the central areas.
So yeah, not including Jacquet, but counting Munoz could be anything from 2 signings to about 6 depending on outgoings.

We've got 4 new CBs already - Jacquet, the two young lads who we signed in January, and the longer young lad we bought in January, who joins on July 1st. You could also say that, to all intents and purposes, Leoni is a new signing too. Not sure we buy another CB unless Joe decides to leave.

What I think could happen is:
In
Barcola
Diomande
Wharton
Bouaddi
Kayode/Read
Out
Gakpo
MacAllister
Thereβs a lot of gaps to fill, so I donβt see them sanctioning sales for the likes of Jones, Gomez, and maybe Chiesa, whoβd need to be replaced. What the new manager wants to do with Nyoni, Elliott, Morrison etc will be interesting.
