Ed 001, are these rumours of Alexis Sanchez true, and if so are they only going to bid if Suarez leaves. Thanks. {Ed002's Note - I suspect that to be the case.}

Ed02 not being funny but why would we replace a nearly 30 goal a season striker with a player can barely score a couple?

Would be an awful decision imo ubless he's a downing replacement {Ed002's Note - You are missing the point. The question was regarding would a bid be made for Sanchez only if Suarez left.}

Luis Suarez is not for sale. If Liverpool were to sign Sanchez it would be in addition to Luis.

Red Owl

Suarez is not for sale? everyone has there price

Yes Sanchez barely scored anything, but give him the same importance as Barca gave Messi, or Liverpool gave to Suarez, I think he can do better than what he is doing. Havent seen him this season, but I did watch him when he was at Udinese, the guy is magical.

Red Owl, you forgot to add 'fact' at the end of your post that would have made it more believable! :)

HB

Swap a goal scorer in top form for a player who gets hardly any minutes and couldn't score in a brothel?. Yeah makes sense!

Tomaldo

Liverpool are set to invite non-League sensation Daniel Carr for a week-long trial.
The 18-year-old, who plays for south London side Dulwich Hamlet, has scored 23 goals in 23 games for his club this season.
He has been monitored by a string of Premier League and Championship clubs, and the Anfield side have made their move to secure the services of the promising teenager.
Having impressed Liverpool spies during his impressive campaign, the top-flight club now want to take a closer look at Carr.

Ed do you know what Sergio Canales' position currently is? Are Valencia and are they looking to sign him when it expires?

Would be a good addition in our midfield, if a decent fee can be agreed. Also can you really see us able to get Sanchez in the summer?

Jonesred. {Ed002's Note - Canales moved to Valencia in teh summer - he is not on loan and he will not be moing to Liverpool in teh summer.}

Have LFC looked at Jos Callejon eds? Cracking young player who could be coaxed away from Real in search of first-team football. {Ed002's Note - No.}

He is 25 not young

Hes not young.

I tried to search, but only found comments from last year, I was just wondering if we had any interest in aly cissokho, been a few things popping up with him mentioning a move to Liverpool could be possible, although its most likely a selection of quotes cut up to make that statement, is there any interest?

REDi {Ed002's Note - I am not aware of interest.}

06 Mar 2013 21:16:37
thank god, he is awful
having seen him a few times for valencia this year, i'm glad there s no interest!

06 Mar 2013 18:04:28
minoglet to comme in a pepe backup? {Ed002's Note - I would doubt that.}

Eds, do you think mignolet would be happy as number 2? {Ed002's Note - Not at all.}

Mignolet is not good enough to sit on the bench he should start full stop

Hey Eds,

Ever heard any rumours of interest from Liverpool or anyone else in Sokratis Papastathopoulos? Given it looks like Rodgers is looking for centre backs thought he might be a good fit?

Thanks.

Lee in Philly {Ed002's Note - None from Liverpool.}

I thought you was trying to spell a different players name then, Kyriakos Papadopoulos xD he's a cb we need (for teh future anyway)

His last name won't fit on the back of the shirt.

He's a brother to ima pastthebestalous

Hi eds was just wondering if there was any interest in signing david villa I hear he is available for about 12 million

I'd rather get Antonio Cassano for 7m euros (i'm sure inter would like to make the money back from what they got him for last summer).

not a cf but would be a great addition to have, can come in and either replace suarez or sturridge in a starting line up if needed.

Why waste £12 million on a 30 year old player he was good in his day but I think villa`s best days are gone very injury prone too.

06 Mar 2013 16:42:45
Ed's, do you know anything about Daniel Carr of Dulwich Hamlet?
The Daily Mail are reporting that "Liverpool have given a trial to the 'non-league sensation', who has scored 23 goals in 23 games this season. " {Ed001's Note - I don't know anything about him sorry.}

He was released by Reading where he was a winger. Dulwich have played him up front and he's been a sensation. We are talking non league though

Wasn't Chris Smalling non league at one stage? He's done alright for himself since.

06 Mar 2013 16:36:00
ed is there some sort of deal for a training kit sponsor trying to be put in place? {Ed001's Note - you mean like Standard Chartered on the shirts? If so, I have no idea, not heard of that being put up as a separate deal.}

08 Mar 2013 01:00:18
Like Manchester United deal with DHL on there training kits!

06 Mar 2013 14:41:08
Hello Eds!
Is there any known interest in the slovenian goal scorer Andraz Sporar from Liverpool? I know that he has been looked at by spurs but from what little I have seen this guy could be class in the future.
Gurra {Ed001's Note - I have no idea sorry.}

Sporar is Liverpool fan he said when january transfer windows open

boli coming to Liverpool

Who the heck is "Boli"?. I guess u mean Bony?. ;-)

06 Mar 2013 15:53:29
Iv heard that rumour to

Basille Boli. think he's a bit old for the first team now!

Holy boli!

06 Mar 2013 12:10:38
Is there any intrest in Daley Blind, as cover for Enrique?

Blind has been impressive for Ajax and has technical ability beyond his years so I think you mean for first choice left back for Enrique to be cover for if anything.

He has good vision apparently, but I can't see it happening.

Have heard BR looking at Cheik M'Bengue. can't recall who he plays for in France

So it seems west ham are unlikely to take up the option to sign Andy Carroll on a permanent deal. where does this leave Liverpool and Carroll. it's clear Rodgers doesn't want him, so unless the club are willing to accept a vastly reduced fee, it seems were stuck with him.

I may be completely wrong but wasnt part of the deal if they stay up they will buy carroll for 17 mill or is that just wishful thinking

If a club takes a player on a season long loan then it should be in the contract that they have to buy them or this situation will continue to arise. Aquillani all over again, we are going to end up paying to shift him.

Carroll is gone in all but the final sale. He will be sold for less than we paid for him. Why are we still talking about this?

06 Mar 2013 13:37:36
maybe he should do 1 and except less wages r just sit on the Liverpool bench during his prime years. its seems a bit funny how west ham would be giving out about his wages 6 months after taking him on loan though and he is only over a bad injury which i'm sure there was insurance cover.

Does anyone really know the unreleased details of the Carroll loan-to-buy deal? I think it best to wait until the end of the season.

Can I ask where this rumour is spreading from as David Gold quite specifically indicated only in December that AC is staying with them as long as they stay up?

WHU were never going to buy Carroll for £17m were they? No one is that dopey.

Disney!

Eds I was of the opinion that Carroll was on some sort of loan-to-buy deal and have a and obligation to buy him at the end of the season. Am I wrong?

Dan. {Ed002's Note - As I have said, I don't know the details and everyone seems happy to speculate about something they have no knowledge of.}

06 Mar 2013 20:08:19
Quote me on this come the summer.

Andy Carrol will end up at Newcastle united in a deal that brings Hatem Ben arfa to Liverpool. Liverpool Rate Carroll at around 18 million with Newcastle rating Ben arfa at around 12. No money will exchange hands as both partys will be happy to get a deal done quickly.

Boom Shake shake shake shake the room

As a west ham fan its been continuely reported that west ham have first option to buy a/c for 17 million provideing they remain in the epl.
west ham would have to agree terms with a/c, which is where the deal would break down he ain't worth 17 mill plus 80k wages a week he has scored 2 goals and one was a penalty

Could not belive it at the time, and I still struggle to accept that we paid 35m for that mongrel.

07 Mar 2013 13:06:29
Liverpool should keep him as a backup striker and offer him a lower wage of 45 grand {Ed002's Note - It doesn't work like that.}

08 Mar 2013 20:19:17
Re post above. Carroll £18m? Ben Arfa £12m? You're off your head, mate. Put 'em the other way round, and you're still not close. Everybody knows AC is for sale but nobody's willing to cough up that much. Plus, Benny - like all NUFC stars, is on a long contract. You'll be lucky if AC goes out on loan for another season and some other suckers pay his silly wages for you!

Hi Ed's,

A few questions (if I may):

Reina's been making noises about being happy and possible Champs League Qualification; can you see him staying with us next Season at all?

Alex Sanchez; I don't think we have the money to buy him; given Coutinho and Sterling play in similar positions do you think its just the tabloids talking rather than any chance we have of buying him?

Downing; vastly improved but not sure if he is the answer; saying that do you think we will sell and be able to get an adequate replacement in for him. By the time we have paid taxes and agents fee's etc. it's likely that a replacement will cost more.

Thanks for your time.

Hoola {Ed001's Note - 1. Yes, it is possible, though I expect us to bring in a keeper either way.
2. It is more a case of the interest is there but only if we get him for a decent price. Remember Barca have a huge debt and a huge wage bill, they need to sell to fund purchases, so a bargain might be gained.
3. I think he has until the end of the season to earn himself a future at the club, nothing is settled with him.}

Thanks Ed - much appreciated as always :o)

Hoola

Hello Ed001,
1. are there any other teams interested in Sanchez?
I know Ed002 mentions Juve a lot but I think they will probably end up with Jovetic.
2. Is there even 1% of truth in us looking at Honda rumours?

surely Honda and Sanchez would complete our Attacking aspect of the team. :) {Ed001's Note - 1. yes, a number of Italian teams would take him, both Milans would be happy to add him to their ranks.
2. We had an interest a while back in him, but never made the deal happen and I have not heard of any interest since.}

Great questions and feedback

I thought sanchez would be looked at if suarez was to be sold. ?

Agreed, great post and great feedback from ed

06 Mar 2013 07:50:24
West Ham are set to send Carroll back to LFC this summer due to the £84k per week wage bill associated with him.
BaldyRed

I thought if westham stayed up. they had to buy him

That was obvious they were not going to buy him, another club messing us about with a loan signing. AC as another aquaman saga written all over him.

Lee73

I thought so also

I think this a part of their negotiation strategy. They probably believe they could get him for nearer £10m than £20m. Liverpool will need interest from other clubs such as Newcastle, Spurs, Stoke, Sunderland and QPR to get near £20m.

10 mill a goal so far if rodgers went out and paid 17 mill and gave him 85k a week would you say?
he hasn't earned the move he wants to play for nfc simple

10 mill a goal?

Your maths are as good as your point.

Seriously though, it's been regularly reported that West Ham have agreed the fee with Liverpool at 17m (not sure whether that includes/excludes the loan fee West Ham United paid initially though), on the basis that they remain in the Prem, but Carroll hasn't agreed terms with WHU, so can just say no and come back at the end of the season, and then we are in the same position as last year, let's just hope he has a strong end to the season (much like last year again), so that he either comes back to us in some kind of form and/or he rises his stock a little for when we sell.

hye eds,
is it true that celtic is interested in michael ngoo? and if it is true, do you think brendan rodgers will sell him in the summer? I would like him to go on loan to celtic, then come back stronger and challenge for the first team. he's a very powerful striker. {Ed002's Note - I don't know, sorry.}

Agree he should be loaned to Celtic ext season and then come back to us. Utd do it all the time with there youngsters and they come back better players for it ie Cleverly and Welbeck.

Celtic are only interested in signing him perm
