Football is a funny old game. For us it was a decent performance but a bad result and for Utd it was a bad performance and a decent result. We're now 9 points off top spot so Spurs next is a must win.

Agree Ed 025. At the moment it would need us to win every game and City to lose 3 or draw 5 just to draw level on points or go 1 point ahead .

Jose Mourninho plans for the season and why they would be inside top 2 end of the season. Today’s results means nothing to him as he has already made up the points elsewhere. There is a return leg to this fixture and if UTD win that they will have made 4 points from 2 games! At home it’s always DROPPED POINTS! 1 point today 1 point against Spurs lol, same old story, Race for top 4 after all the money spent and improvements made!

Agree Ed 25 as much as I love my club it doesn't stop me watching other teams play and being honest. I find it amazing how some fans refuse to say a negative word about anything LFC yet will throw criticism at other clubs. You only have to look at trophy cabinets the last 10 years and ours is lacking way behind the other so called big teams ( Spurs the exception) in England.

When a team that's basically as good or better than you player for player turns up wanting a draw and with little intention of getting involved in a football match, it's hard to beat them. If Klopp had sacrificed Wijnaldum or Can after 60 minutes for Oxlade-Chamberlain or Sturridge and United had nicked one on the counter, we'd all be complaining about how Klopp has no tactical nous and fell into Mourinho's trap by getting too ambitious when he had control of the game.
Personally I'd have risked it had I been the manager, but if I was the manager, we'd probably have none of our current front 3, so it's not like I actually know better than Klopp, is it? And, y'know, we still created two clear cut chances that unfortunately fell to Matip and Can.
I'm not hammering Klopp or the players for this.

Still level on points with 4th despite our best player Mane missing 4 games and Coutinho not turning up at the start of the season.

I thought the team did really well today and Klopp got it spot on. Although we didn't win we looked more of a unit. United hardly got a sniff and Lovren pretty much took Lukaku out of the game bar one chance. It wasnt the most exciting game but this is what Mourinho does. Im more than happy with the performance.

We have lost once this season to the best team in the league having gone down to 10 men.
I said top 4 and a decent Champions League run at the beginning of the season and I still think that is realistic. Not many pundits gave us chance of top 4 at the start of the season, yet they want the manager sacked after 8 games. I think we will comfortably get top 4.We play attacking football and it was refreshing not to see us go hung Ho and leave gaps while chasing the win.

The issue being Ed25 is that Liverpool usually have most teams on the back foot only to be hit by a sucker punch. I would think that having a more measured approach over the season would bring better results instead of our usual 2 at the back and 8 up front style of play.

Harry, you said Mou plans for the season. You mean like he did last season when he played the same tactics at Anfield and did not win the PL, did not qualify for the CL via the PL and finished well below us? Come of it, man. Before the game, NO ONE gave us a chance for a point and after the game, we clearly should have won the game in spite of him playing stone age football (his words, not mine) . If Mou wants to play the way he is playing then that is his choice. He should then not be surprised when people take digs at him for being a waster of talent. We'll take the point and move on. Chelsea and Arsenal lost and we play Spurs next (who are 4 points ahead of us) . Up the Pool!
