Enough is enough. The constant comparisons with ManCity are wrong, stupid and boring. ManCity are supported by an entire very wealthy country. It has 115 charges currently against the club for cheating on a grand scale.

Is signing another player that important to you that that is how you want Liverpool to compete?

Oh by the way, if you want some perspective when demanding another £100m player, there are more than 250,000 homeless families in the UK. As a suggestion, why don't you put all your anger and energy in to helping them by donating, working at homeless shelters or
Spending time on the streets talking to these people and showing them that humanity has not left them to suffer on their own.

Get a grip, this entitled nonsense is distasteful at best and highlights the worst side of humanity- greed.

Bit of a weird post this. What has the homeless crisis got to do with Liverpool signing a player?

25 Aug 2023 09:37:08
Not sure that wanting your billionaire club to splash the cash like other billionaire clubs are doing is greedy. The price of players has been inflated and we need a CB plus possibly another midfielder. Its not greedy to expect the club to upgrade our defence when it needs upgrading.

25 Aug 2023 09:57:30
The fans are greedy whilst the multi million pound footballers and owners are the real hero’s.

25 Aug 2023 09:57:50
Is this a football rumour and banter site or has it changed? Let's treat it like 1 then.

25 Aug 2023 10:10:06
But we made a British record bid for a player.

25 Aug 2023 10:10:56
Why assume we have to go on a massive spending spree like Man City or Chelsea? That's quite an extreme assumption.

What we really need are two "absolutely essential signings" to make our window a solid 9/ 10:

- A defensive midfielder or a versatile midfielder.
- A young left-sided center-back.

These signings are critical because we clearly lack the depth that becomes vital as the season progresses.

25 Aug 2023 10:14:35
"Entitled nonsense" for wanting to see our club buy a few more players as we think this would enable Liverpool to push for the title? It's a strange take.

25 Aug 2023 10:16:18
I mean this is just a virtue signalling post drawing false equivalence from two completely separate subjects.

It goes without saying I'm much angrier about the homeless crisis than I am about Liverpool being a bit short in defence, but I'm not going to talk about the wealth gap painting a false picture of the UK economy, lack of regulations on landlords and an increase in poorly paid, insecure employment on a football forum am I?

25 Aug 2023 10:17:00
Wanting Liverpool to sign a player has zero to do with the homeless crisis and if you’re trying to offer a sense of perspective, you’ve picked the wrong sport. Additionally, who is comparing us to Man City? Shall we compare ourselves to Arsenal who are not state owned but are making fine progress. What is tiresome is moral high ground fans attempting to make a martyr out of themselves by refusing to engage in a valid conversation about squad replenishment. This does not correlate to wanting a “shiny new toy” it’s a valid observation given we finished fifth last year, lost a significant number of players, bought few in to replace, have a ridiculous net spend and don’t look in anyway shape or form to get close to a title. Take your rose tinted specs off, we just want what’s best.

25 Aug 2023 10:26:38
1jj, I was with your you on your first paragraph and all that and suddenly, stuff got weird.

25 Aug 2023 10:30:42
I think 1jj explained it very clearly JK_RED.

25 Aug 2023 10:58:37
The club has the fanbase on strings! The PR department are effective.

25 Aug 2023 11:03:34
@kemlyncat, explained what exactly? That we shouldn’t want Liverpool to sign any players because we have homeless people on the streets? What does one have to do with the other? It’s an absolute disgrace that we have homeless people on the streets but there is absolutely no correlation at all. It was just a very strange post.

25 Aug 2023 11:08:20
This post has made me Demand a £200m player now.

25 Aug 2023 11:19:34
Haha, LFC8.

25 Aug 2023 11:32:41
Klopp said, "Konate's got an injury, so he won't play against Newcastle. "

"We need to be lucky with injuries", he added.

25 Aug 2023 11:32:46
Just spoke to a fella who works at a homeless shelter and he also reckons we need a couple more signings. Terrible advice OP I feel even worse now.

25 Aug 2023 11:40:53
Agree with several posters, notable JK23 - the majority of football fans are working class people, don't preach to the choir.

However, on another note, and if the Eds allow it, I suggest people look up Proxy Address if they do want to help the homeless crisis. One of the biggest issues getting people out of the cycle, is that they do not have a fixed address, meaning they can't claim benefits, apply for legal documents, apply for jobs etc. An associate of mine started Proxy Address to solve this, and anyone with a fixed address can help.

25 Aug 2023 12:19:24
We The Reds, you just posted brazen and blatant Fake News/ Disinformation right there on what Klopp said about Konate in his presser. You must think you are the only one who watched his presser. Surprise! So did I and when Klopp was asked about the fitness of his squad for the Sunday game:

"Thiago from Monday on. Curtis from Monday on. And Ibou is a doubt. So mem yeah, playing 40 minutes with 10 men did not help so let me put it like that but that's the situation. But yeah besides that, the rest should be available".

Now I don't know what beef you have with Klopp or the club and frankly, I don't care BUT that does not give you any right to start posting blatant disinformation on this forum just to push whatever agenda you have. You will get called out on it. Peace and Love.

Virtue signalling? Are you for real? Your response has just shown you up as part of the problem. You really need to read the room (and I mean society) .

I’ve been a member of this site for donkeys years and always enjoyed the banter and generally reasonable debate but I’m afraid some posters really need to take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror as your moral compass is severely broken.

It’s just a game. Life isn’t.

25 Aug 2023 12:52:08
Virtue Signalling - "the public expression of opinions or sentiments intended to demonstrate one's good character or social conscience or the moral correctness of one's position on a particular issue"

It's exactly that, you're accusing people of not caring about societal issues because they moan about football on a football forum. You have absolutely no idea what anybody on here does or doesn't do in their spare time, and I would expect many who do don't feel the need to tell everybody about it.

25 Aug 2023 13:02:57
1jj this is a football rumours site, there are plenty of horrors in the world that are beyond out control, but football is an escape and trying to guilt trip fans for wanting the club to make signings is just strange mate.

25 Aug 2023 15:13:14
If it’s just a game 1jj please don’t spend time on this website and instead dedicate your free time to helping others. This is a forum for football not a world relief page. If this isn’t virtue signalling then I don’t know what is.
