Eds - how does it work when a coach reaches agreement to join a team (but they are still mid-season with their current team? For example, will Slot be able to actively engage and start shaping plans for our new season, making decisions, etc? Or, can he only do so once the Feyenoord season ends?

{Ed002's Note - He will have to see the season ot where he is.}

Isn't a shame we are going to be playing possession based football next year and thiago is leaving. Why we ever bought him to play under klopp never made sense and set us back with his chronic Injuries. In a possession based side he would cook.

Best for all if Salah leaves. He has forgotten all the trophies he has won under Klopp. I find his attitude and body language stinks. In my 40 odd years of supporting Liverpool, I cannot ever remember a player disrespecting our manager on the touchline for all to see. Always appears a sulky player whenever he is subbed off or on the bench. Thanks for the last couple of years MO, but no player is bigger than the manager or club. So off you go.

Amen Elliot Ness.

"Last couple of years"

Nice to see SEVEN years of being one of the best players in the league being paired down to something that can be handwaved away.

I don't understand this need people have to re-write history cos of a few weeks. Going on with Klopp too.

What if he joins a premier league club an starts banging goals in?

Question for the Eds.

I won't pretend I know how typical managers operate regarding signings, but for Slot it looks like he is just going to be a coach, rather than have a say of the players who Liverpool bring in and sell, but I think that could be a great idea.

From what I think I know, Klopp had a say in bringing, origi, thiago, Nunez, Keita, Grujic? And Edwards and Co. Brought in the likes of Salah, Mane, Alisson, Fabinho, Wijinaldum. So personally I'd say the Analysts got it more right?

Klop seemed to hang onto players who should have been sold, so maybe Slot will have no say in those matters and maybe just be responsible for telling Hughes and Co. What he thinks the team needs and what it doesn't? I think that's the way forward?

{Ed001's Note - they should work together to pick the signings.}

This crazy good player Xavi from Leipzig has dribbling speed of Raheem Sterling, Vision of TAA and work rate of Makelele. He is a dutch international, hope Slot gets him into Liverpool team!

Xavi Simons.

He's on loan from PSG. did well on loan at PSV the previous season.

Not sure if PSG will want to sell. he's a big talent.

PSG are losing Mbappe in the summer, sincerely doubt they’ll sell Simons.

Quick question regarding the Naby Keita signing.

Were the club more mindful of whom we were signing after the Naby disaster? And was Klopp giving less of a free rein when it came to choosing players? Did he ever have full control?

It's been suggested Slot won't have much input in new recruits, surely he'll want his own players?

Cheers
Drogie.

{Ed002's Note - Keita was a huge mistake and that was explained at the time. Clubs will always look to how suitable a player is and got it very wrong with Keita. Klopp always had an input but not full control. He pushed through some signings himself, like Karius and Nunez, but others were a joint decision.}

Thanks Ed002.

{Ed002's Note - You are welcome Drogie.}

Does anyone else think that Anthony Taylor owes Salah big time for taking the media attention away from his terrible officiating yesterday.

Let me preface this firstly by saying that we didn’t drop points against West Ham because of the official that’s on our players and there performance but that shouldn’t detract from how bad this ref is.

For me the Cody Gakpo situation is a major F -up on his part and the wagons have been circled and some bull story being brought out that he was playing an advantage, this doesn’t stand up to scrutiny because the game footage clearly shows Taylor telling the keeper to play on waving away a free kick, Taylor blows the whistle when Gakpo is approaching and then Taylor tells the keeper to go down and calls on medics? This is straight out of Webbs playbook and I can’t wait for him to gaslight a nation live on Mic’d up with Michael Owen and tell us all that our eyes are lying to us!

Secondly there is the early challenge on MacAllister, now I’m on the fence if I want to see that as a red card offence as I don’t think it was particularly out of control more mistimed and didn’t appear reckless however Taylor was literally feet away and issued no card? This is a challenge being checked for a possible red card and Taylor either didn’t see what was right in front of him or didn’t think it was even a yellow….

{Ed025's Note - come on Dow-ney thats just papering over the cracks mate, we all get bad decisions against us but lets address the elephant in the room, the team is a shambles at the moment and the players and manager dont seem to be on the same page, blaming the referee for dropping points is just burying your head in the sand im afraid..

With the challenge on Mac Allister, I'd be absolutely happy for that not to be a red.

Except Jones was sent off for the same tackle against Spurs. So which is it? Is that a red or not? Lack of consistency again.

He didn't blame the official "Let me preface this firstly by saying that we didn’t drop points against West Ham because of the official that’s on our players and there performance but that shouldn’t detract from how bad this ref is"

{Ed025's Note - i know he threw a disclaimer in there Endo, but why mention it in the first place?..

28 Apr 2024 12:26:46
Def a talking point. Myself and kids sat there unable to work out what was going on and no commentator mentioned it. What’s your take on it ed025?

{Ed025's Note - if you mean the tackle on Macca i though it was a yellow all day WM, if you mean the Salah / Klopp incident then i thought Mo was bang out of order mate, all players should have respect for the manager and if they do have a problem it should be sorted behind closed doors, i personally dont think Mo is that type of person but he let his frustrations boil over and it was not a good look at all mate..

28 Apr 2024 12:41:14
Thanks ed025 agree with you on those. I mean when the ref waved play on when their goalkeepers foot hit the post from catching a corner, their goalkeeper rolled the ball out, Gakpo was about to score and the ref blew up and told the goalkeeper to go down. He wasn’t even injured.

{Ed025's Note - nothing surprises me any more with referees in this league WM, the standard is very poor mate..

28 Apr 2024 13:39:39
That is the same referee that the FA call England's very best and will go to Euro this year Ed25. If that is what they call their very best, than the bar is so low you can't even see it anymore.

{Ed025's Note - the standard is very low mfahmee and getting lower by the game mate imo..

In terms of refereeing incompetence, we have an extremely competitive field in this country.
