I think there’s going to be a lot of disappointed folks this summer. JWH’s comments as good as quashed any idea of Bellingham. Mount, Berge and a bunch of free transfers is our summer plans.

The question you should be asking is why wouldn’t he want to sign for Liverpool?

Flee, if I was Bellingham I ‘d sign for Liverpool - I’ve want to play for them since the early 1960’s. Despite being in my 60’s I still hope I will one day.

Pretty sure we were in for Bellingham from a very young age, why didn’t he come to us then? .
The same influences are still around him now.
We were in a better position a few years ago rather than the rebuild needed now.

Palhinha, among others, is the type of player we should have targeted in the summer at 15-20m after it became apparent that Tchouameni was not an option.

Dont worry though. Jude will be worth all the trauma, apparently.

Apparently so Ed077, I thought he was a massive Reds fan? Bellingham can go Madrid and possible fail, like Hazard for example and have the fans turn, or he can come Liverpool, be adored and go the way his idol Stevie G did, become a legend, there'll be a meeting soon with a surprise guest that will hopefully sway him to come.

Im not sure how serious our interest was Clee when he was at Birmingham. In any case he was obviously advised that for his development it was better to go to Germany and play rather than sit in a premier league team’s U23 team.

Now he is established as an international player his motives will be different. He’s now walking into the first team of whichever team he joins so being that he’s dreamed of playing for Liverpool for his whole life why would he care about 1 bad season? The chance may never come again.

He said so himself Ashy. Also said he grew up watching and idolising Stevie G.

Fowler and Carra is different they grew up in Liverpool and played in the Liverpool youth teams before making the first team. They then became big Liverpool fans.

Perhaps if they had played in the Birmingham youth teams and into Birmingham’s first team and then had the choice of Everton or Liverpool we would now be talking about 2 Everton legends.

Not too much Ed025 but he has spoke to an ex Liverpool lad and is very keen to move here, the ex player is looking to have a certain fella there that would be huge in helping the move.
