Hi all,

There is truth behind the claims that Diomande has chosen PSG as his preferred destination. As you may or may not have noticed, I have tried to stay clear of exerting major confidence on the Diomande deal for a while now. My understanding is always that we were strongly in the mix but it was never as far along as other rumours suggest.

Doubling down on what I said a few weeks back - Bradley Barcola will be a Liverpool player.

My thoughts have been, for a while, that the price is too high for him. For me, he has world class potential, but he isn't world class. That was a risky fee to pay for such a short period playing at top level.



I've been on the fence a little, as I do think potential is big with him.

Let's hope homework is done, and the club has identified great alternatives. More money, hopefully, to spread around the team.

But, let's say if it is true, then who cares? It would just prove we've dodged a bullet in my opinion, so don't be gutted. If the lad wants to go play in a farmers league, sitting on a bench week in week out on a fortune in wages, it shows he wouldn't have what it takes to ever reach his full potential with us in the first place.



Plenty of other exciting targets out there like El Mala, Rayan, Barcola, etc, not to mention the talent we have in the academy like Morrison and Abe who haven't had an opportunity yet.

It seems to me that the boy doesn't know what he wants. Last week, he was a boyhood Liverpool fan whose father wanted him to play for Liverpool. For Liverpool to have even bid for the lad, there must have been some encouragement from his camp; not saying a player can't change their mind, and we've been down this road before, so who knows, but I don't think this is final just because of what Ornstein has said.

Player opted for PSG and you can't really argue with that, guaranteed titles and 2 in a row in CL! Would have liked him at Liverpool, but at the fee being asked I'm not exactly gutted he isn't signing as it's an awful lot of money for a 19yo with little behind him.

Horribly overpriced for somebody with one good season in the Bundesliga.

Would be the most risky transfer we've ever done.

I would genuinely prefer we spread the money over a couple of new signings.

I'm sure this sounds like sour grapes now, but I think quite a few of us feel the same way, and I've been nervous about the price being rumoured.



For that kind of money, I would expect a ready-made world beater to be coming in.

I thought the Said El Mala fee was similar to the Munoz one - about £35-40m.

It's fair to say, the kid will go far. Tall, robust, takes set pieces and is an output merchant.

Very much a left winger, I would say. Will be a talisman for someone.

With Munoz and Rio on our books, and Diomande our main right winger target, I would think Said El Mala is unlikely.

Rumours say Liverpool are front runners for Ty Livesey alongside both Manchester clubs. I'm hearing otherwise, as he'll likely end up going to one of the Manchester clubs.
