I can only think it must be phils back injury that's curtailed his time with Barca.

Agree9 Disagree0

Or maybe he was just pee poor on the pitch and Barcelona realized they got hosed and duped, all ends up. He's their problem now. Let them deal with his inherent "back" injuries.

As they say you reap what you sew. I do feel slightly sorry for Coutinho as he seems to get the majority of the blame but Barcelona have to take a lot of the hit in how the transfer played out. Coutinho’s so called back injury is the Barcelona way of doing business to try and drive the price down. They did similar with Fabregas, Dembele, Greizman and now Neymar where the players missed training (went on strike) to force through the move. We replaced him with Allison and VVD so I’m more than happy. However I wouldn’t begrudge seeing the lad do well in Germany.

JK23, Cou orchestrated the whole set of shananigans that forced the move the way he did. He and his agent. Ed02 confirmed that at the time. These things did not just happen in a vaccuum. Cou was fuly aware of what he was doing so IMO, this is all his fault and if he wanted to leave us, there are ways he could have done it and I would have been cool with it cos after all, he had been with us for 5 years. That is a lot of time at one club. He did what he did and will own ALL of this mess. Good luck to him in whatever he does in Germany or wherever BUT that's where it ends for me.

Redwolf hence why I said you reap what you sew. That was directed at Coutinho. All I was stating was that Barcelona seem to go blameless when they are far from it. You replied blaming everything on Coutinho saying he orchestrated everything (so Barcelona must have been clueless he was even coming) . For that I thank you for proving my point.

I think all this players moving is all a bit hypocritical in my opinion.

There are players that play for Liverpool that didn't conduct themselves in the best manner before moving to LfC. There are also players that have been looking out practically as the put their foot on the Anfield turf and hadn't been at the club 5 years, yet nothing is said.

For me these things happen in football all the time, so best not to be overly critical, especially when it isn't a balanced opinion. It's not the best way to leave or enter a club, especially when you are losing a good player, but it's not uncommon as I have said.

JK, of course Barcelona were not blameless BUT I did nit know I actually had to point that out cos that was obvious.

Irish, I am not being overly critical. I am quoting what Ed02 said that Cou actually did to get his move, with Barca's complicity. That is not an "unbalanced" opinion. Using facts to support an opinion, does NOT make your opinion "unbalanced".

The topic is about how Cou conducted himself and made a situation that could have been resolved amicably, into a freaking circus. If he wanted to leave then fine, do it BUT to drag the name of the cub in the mud just to get your way, is out of order IMO. I have never and will never accept that type of conduct regardless of how many players do it. That is the type of argument that is killing morality and accountability in our society today. The "Everyone does it so what's the problem? " crap is just the last refuge of a scoundrel, IMO.

So you don't think that Salah getting his agent to talk to Spanish clubs about a move after only a few months is "out of order"?
Or when VVD went on strike at Southampton was "out of order"?

It is easy to chastise a player that has left the club the wrong way, yet so easy to turn a blind eye to players at the club that have done equally the same as Coutinho.

That is my point about unbalanced opinion.

Irish, You don't see Salah throwing a strop about any move to RM, do you? If Salah wants to leave us? Great. If he does a Cou, he will get the same business form me that Cou is getting now. VVD went on strike to come here and we broke the rules to get him. That was also bang out of order. See? I am consistent on this issue.

Also, I mentioned that I don't care how many players do it, it is still out of order and I stated that in my latest response to your post so I think I have addressed your points for the most part. Peace.
