If we offered £23million for Caleta - car which was turned down, could this mean that we may go back in the summer for him.

I only ask as we will sign Kaban on loan with the option to buy. Seems as though perhaps we were more sure of the Croat over the Turk.

The best position to have for any wannabe Liverpool player is to have the shirt already!

Ozan has the chance to prove that he is the CB that Klopp wants longer term. Remember Salah wasn't first choice but he's not done too badly.

I'd say Kabak is definitely in the box seat as he can show Klopp his abilities and potential day in day out in training and games.

It's all about finances, or lack of, rather than our being sure of any of these players' talents. We probably proposed a long payment schedule for Caleta-Car (I'm guessing) as we did for Jota, and it got refused. I don't see how we could have brought in anybody unless it was a loan or extended payment terms.

Quite possibly, Ra. But I've got to agree with most other posters that Michael Edwards is a genius!

Given that we were talking about Kabak last summer (so he's not someone completely off radar) it really seems like a great deal on a player who, yes, does have some disciplinary issues, but is young enough to get onto the right path and has such great potential.

Hearing Paul "idiot" Merson blathering on about how he can't see what Liverpool see in a player who plays in a team that's bottom of the league makes me wonder, yet again, just what he's smoking!
