I think its safe to believe our chances for a top4 finish are but almost over.
Which makes this summer transfer window very crucial.
The first team has played tremendous amount of football for us in last 4 years. Notably salah, mane, bobby, trent, gini and robbo have been ever-present each playing over 150 games for us in last 3-4 years. Its a lot of football.
This year hasn't been what we wanted but these players have still been out every week giving it a go and for some its blatantly obvious performance has visibly dropped by a big margin.
We know gini is leaving us and am grateful for how he has been rock solid for us. But i think for us its right time for him to go.
I don't want the front three to be touched. But i think it will be.
The obvious choice is mane or bobby. But i think it will be unfortunately salah who leaves. Just because too many big clubs are in the market for an out an out goalscorer. Most of them are untouchable due to price and i think salah is second third choice for almost every club. Ofcourse we won't be selling him to any rival but juventus madrid Barcelona can still price him away.
We also have too many fringe players whom need to be moved even at below the market rates.
We need a LB, CB, a striker and salah replacement. I think our transfers team should be on it now. We should be getting in whoever we want early. So we have ample time to sell some players later in the window.

I wouldn’t hope for much in the summer. £42m losses would suggest sales in the summer and a difficult season next year.

If Salah went we wouldn’t challenge next season, again.

The thing that bothers me is that we have the second highest annual wage bill in the EPL, behind ManC. We're paying more than ManU, Chelsea and Spurs. And yet we get the impression that we are down to only 15 or 16 players that we can count on, for most games. There is something wrong with that. We clearly need far better squad management. Not pointing any fingers at Klopp and his staff. You can argue our core was decimated with injuries, but then that's what a squad of 25 is supposed to be for. ManC won one year with Laporte out and this year they're winning it without Aguero having been on the field much.

We need better squad management. I think Klopp needs to be more ruthless with the players who don't produce, and I think Edwards needs to be quicker and more decisive with the ins and outs of the squad. I'm all for bargain purchases and making killings on sales. But we end up holding on to players that don't fit, for too long. We now have 3 midfielders (Keita, Ox, Shaqiri) on a high wage that don't play or produce. Klopp doesn't use them, and the players ahead of them keep playing and being played into the ground. Do we wait 3 years before they realize Tsimikas is not for us, while Robertson's longevity is seriously damaged? We marvel at how ManC can put together 2 teams that could beat most EPL teams on any given day. Nobody in their right mind would be able to say that about LFC. And the difference in wage bill between us and them is not massive (350 million to our 325 million) .

Excuses aside, The club messed up in January. If we’d have brought players in on Jan 1st to fix mainly the CB position we’d have scraped top 4. They wouldn’t have downed tools.
Now we need MORE money spent without champions league. It’s a shambles
Supposed to be premier league champions and acted like relegation fodder.
Yes Yes I know all the excuses, they’ve been spouted all season, but doesn’t make a difference to the fact we’re 2 years off getting back to where we was.
