Portuguese media saying the same thing, and being repeated by others. If it's true then Edwards and Hughes have taken the right decision in taking action well before the summer starts.

Don't think Hughes will have been involved, he still works for Bournemouth.

Thereeps, I could be wrong but I think it was said, although Richard Hughes officially starts on the 1st June. He was given permission by Bournemouth to assist with the search of a new manager prior to officially starting in his SD role with us. If true it would be him and Edwards leading negotiations with Amorim.

Amorim said in his presser before the Benfica game at the weekend when he was asked if he would stay at Sporting next season, that he could not guarantee that he would. That is the first time he has ever indicated such a thing thru out this saga so that was what was most telling. I think he is on his way here.

If we’ve landed Amorim as manager, fair do’s to FSG, we’ve got the best out there who we can get. Given that Alonso said no, we’ve got the next best talent.
