Marco Asensio (RW/LW) Goals have largely dried up and his representative is working with a third-party agent to find a club willing to pay something like €40M for the player. The third party has said that the player ideally wants a club in the Champions League but the discussions he has had have been with Leicester City, Newcastle and Leeds so far and admits knocking on the door of other PL clubs including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Spurs. Player is not open to moving to a side not in the Champions League. Milan and Juventus were approached but showed no interest, although MIlan have since met directly with his Representative to discuss price. I suspect he might be seen as an option by Liverpool. PSG provide a potential option. Real Madrid will be open to using him in a part exchange deal of some type but finding a buyer at the asking price might be difficult but will also perhaps try and do something with Dortmund. A new contract seems unlikely, but Madrid will not want him to run down his contract. Milan could win out.

Hi eds, in your valued opinion do you think klopp will be able to add to the squad they way he wants or are his hands tied so to speak because of less funds due to the stadium bein closed to fans and less revenue coming in, thanks.

{Ed002's Note - Liverpool like most clubs will have made very significant losses this season and accumulated debt on players they added last season like Jota and Tiago. They have already been put off one player they were interest in because his club want a cash payment and don't want the payments spread over a longer period. So, whilst the club do have a loan facility available and the owners may help a little, the club need to look to selling players to buy. To do that they need to avoid ove-valuing players. There are several out on loan (e.g. Wilson, Grujic, Miller, Awoniyi, Ojo, Minamino) that the club can sell to raise funds and some surplus in the squad that could make way for youngsters like Elliott, but if the club wish to make significant purchases then significant sales must be expected.}

Ed with him having a termination clause and it’s well known speaking to a player’s agent like it’s been reported seems to make sense to find out if a deal can be made as the transfer fee is the easy bit of this transfer. As for spending Ed I think there is plenty of players that need to go that should free up enough money to strengthen the squad and would have been last summer if the fees set are not stupid. For me we only need 3 players a Cb Cdm and a striker I don’t get why so many fans on here seem to think Mane is finished just had a bad run for the first time and with the injuries this season did not get a chance of a rest but I think Mane will be back to his very best next season.

His ceiling is higher than Upamancano in my opinion and reads the game superbly well. If he can stay niggle free I think he’s the starter klopp will be looking for.

Fab’s comments were about Konate almost being a done deal or at least a deal he expects to get done in the next couple of weeks and your reply was along the lines of, that’s pretty much the case.

Reading your replies above is it fair to say everything is agreed with the player but we haven’t spoken to the club yet? Is it one of those cases where we only have to pay a clause and as long as we stump up it’s done? Or would we need to negotiate with RBL?

If it’s the latter then I don’t think one will be done as we have wound them up enough with our previous efforts.

Klopp is an absolute disgrace and needs to be severely punished for continuously breaking the rules. Everyone rightfully is jumping down the throats of FSG for acting so poorly, Klopp does equally the same time and time again and it should not be tolerated. Great manager he is, his behaviour is disgusting and it either needs to stop now or he needs to go. The manager must act professionally on and off the pitch, what he does off the pitch is simply unacceptable and clearly the man can not learn. I can’t get my head round all this tapping up stuff. I’ve lost count of how many apologies we’ve had to make and money we’ve had to pay out. There’ll be no clubs left that will deal with us soon if we carry on. We now need to rely on clubs to accept long term payment plans so clubs working with us is crucial. Correct me if I am wrong. Agents can speak to other clubs regarding a transfer and discuss terms that would be acceptable by a player without any official contact being made to the players club. Has Klopp etc. directly spoke witb Konate or just his agent? Im sure when the transfer window opens RBL will recieve an offer. How many transfers are confirmed several months prior to a transfer window opening anyway with exception to Bosmans, free agents etc.

World Cup winning, 20 goal a season attacker, Antoine Griezmann, is not that good? He's an extremely good player and 30 is not that old considering he has never had injury problems and doesn't really rely on any physical attributes such as pace or power.

I'd take him at Liverpool in a heartbeat. Cavani has shown the value there is to be had with recruiting an experienced forward who knows where the net is. Plus, you can't be calling a player who has scored nearly 250 career goals at the highest club/ international level "not that good" without any context. If we're talking about the best players of this generation, sure. He's not "that" good. Let's not pretend he isn't in that top class bracket though.

Kane is a better player than Griezmann and he's also younger so on paper he's a better signing. I've made it clear i think Kane is world class. I've primarily argued against people saying he will make who ever he joins unbeatable. The only argument i used against us signing him was his contempt towards his team mates as i believe his need to be the centre of everything would affect the harmony in our squad. He's a huge ego whose only ever known being the centre of attention. Griezmann isn't perfect, but he's played in teams where it's not all about him and he's also helped his teams to win trophies. Kane has stolen more goals from team mates than he has medals.
