Looks like a day for new heroes to be anointed, for both teams .

Agree3 Disagree4

12 Sep 2015 17:55:42
Well brendan rogers sure doesn't think so with his aweful tactics. Man u there for takin and he plays defensive counter attack crap

12 Sep 2015 18:06:35
Bwetty

We ain't playing counter attacking, it's just we cannot keep the ball with ourself . UTD are pressing high and very high. Why blame BR ?

12 Sep 2015 18:15:30
I'm pretty sure Brendan is the worst manager in liverpools history

12 Sep 2015 18:28:54
Our passing has been downright dreadful. The passage of play between Emre Can and Skrtel just before half time was awful, why did Can treat that ball like it had a disease!?

The ball is in the middle of park crying out for a midfielder to take charge, lift his head up and find a pass, instead he kept passing it back to Skrtel until it ended up being a corner for them.

They are here for the taking, grow some balls and go for it, because it looks to me like a defeat for BR means trouble so its an avoid defeat at all costs exercise to me.

12 Sep 2015 18:44:27
It's time for PSG to bite the bullet. I honestly don't see any point to keeping a manager whose philosophy goes against everything in the history of the club. They should make an immediate change while weare still in four competitions.

12 Sep 2015 19:09:33
Because he picks the team harry,at some point you are going to have to accept that Rogers doesn't have a clue

12 Sep 2015 19:21:30
Can-not good enough
Milner-spent force,3 years too late
If you rely on buying second tier players to coach to top notch then you need time and good fortune.some will work, some won't .time to realise where we are in the game

12 Sep 2015 19:25:45
Don't forget Hogson but we get the sentiment. Awful result. Only single ray of light was THAT goal from Benteke.

12 Sep 2015 19:30:34
Fsg u mean

12 Sep 2015 19:31:04
well that was sad to watch. Not sure what more could go wrong lol. I agree you can't blame rodgers for everything but he and our team just look clueless

12 Sep 2015 19:32:11
Harry aka brendan rodgers in disguise (saw you on that tablet in the dugout u sly dog) . Who picks the team and tactics it was clear he was playing defensive counter attacking football only problem is he/you got it wrong man u were there for the taking and he bottled it with his bloody i have no clue tactics he was useless did u honestly watch the same game can't wait to hear the press conference harry make us all laugh as this was a horror show

12 Sep 2015 19:37:29
You play 2 p top Harry and a very narrow midfield, what did he think was going to happen when he cedes midfield control to United?

12 Sep 2015 19:41:06
Bod
I think it's time to realize that the manager is the worst in the last 50 years of LFC. Worse than Hodgsom dare I say it. 300million spent and still we see that

12 Sep 2015 19:50:26
We could actually be the worst team in the EPL. Brenda's got to go!

12 Sep 2015 19:53:52
That was absolutely dire. Put aside the poor performances, miss placed passes, tactical/selection errors. The most distressing aspect for me was the complete lack of desire, lack of teamwork, lack of commitment. I'd say only the full backs put a shift in.
For me it looks like the players have no faith in the manager and he may have lost the dressing room. It has the smell of regime change in my opinion.

However, I will continue to back the manager and hope he turns it around. The return of Hendo, Sturridge and Coutinho will help. Stay positive, we're walking through a storm!

12 Sep 2015 20:09:51
To be fair, that wasn't defensive/counter-attacking, it was just the defensive part. There were no counter attacks of any sort in the first half.

12 Sep 2015 20:13:41
RB is worst than Roy, hands down. EG, you must be on some comedy lauging gas or something? Can't blame BR after that waste of time we just watched? Who picked the team, tactics and system that made a severely aweful Utd team look like top four contenders? Who continues to pick Skrtel who continues to escort strikers right on to Mingo's doorstep and is surprised they always score? Who took off Ings who was actually showing some promise instead of Can who tbh, had a poor game and I'm a fan of his? Who chose to stifle his own team by playing right into Utd's hands? Three straight games vs Utd now he's gifted them victory so again, who do you think is to blame for everything on the pitch? BR absolutely is to blame for everything based on what we saw on the pitch because that is his domain.

12 Sep 2015 20:14:32
Common everyone including the ED01 wanted two up top and I was the only one personally against it as I stressed the importance of width and pace.
Firmino should have been played as the second striker.

Buy 35 million player and everyone wants DIAMOND FORMATION. THE FAMOUS DIAMOND FORMATION.

Our midfield has been poor and we never reinforced in the summer. We lost against 36 year old Carrick and 31 year old German With three players in the middle says a lot.

{Ed001's Note - if you can't understand the tactical problems, then you never will. It was nothing to do with the formation.}

12 Sep 2015 20:38:43
We didn't play two up top! Ings was pretty much playing wing back!

12 Sep 2015 20:41:59
I was predicting 8th to 10th at this rate we will be lucky to be mid table. Absolute shambles, this is what you get when the owners know zip about the sport.

12 Sep 2015 20:43:33
Walking through a storm Ron?

He's bloody well spent over 300 million pound and were walking through a storm!

The only reason that there's storm clouds over us Ron is because of that buffoon that is our manager.

Think about this Ron, this man has spent over 300 million on players, plays a very poor Man u side and defends, poorly, albeit the full backs. Plays a midfield that doesn't want the ball, and one that can't support the forward line in any way shape or form. And then there's the goalkeeper that is just not good enough.

And make no mistake Ron this is HIS team. I for one have had enough of this buffoon. We are now a team with no identity and heaven help us.

12 Sep 2015 20:44:05
Ed01, I am waiting to hear your Podcast

12 Sep 2015 20:54:57
Seeing is finally believing, Ron. You're an hour lated and a dollar short. Anyway, better late than never. We have been saying what you are saying now for months now and if the owners won't step in and end this misery then maybe we as fans need to get their attention

12 Sep 2015 20:57:25
Ed01 do you think the players just can't interpret brendans philosophy?

{Ed001's Note - no, I think he is just Roy re-incarnated with a touch of orange. Looking to defend away and hoping to sneak a point.}

12 Sep 2015 21:07:45
Do the players have to take some responsibility too though ed, i mean take some pride as professional footballers and play their own game or should all the blame be laid squarely at brendans door.

Im trying to play devils advocate although my feelings are clear on what needs to be done and should have been done in the summer.

{Ed001's Note - what are they meant to do? If they do what they want to do, then we lose, they will get crucified by everyone. Though it is getting to the point where there will be a full scale revolt, the players haven't a clue what they are meant to be doing or why. The coaching changes can only save Rodgers for so long.}

12 Sep 2015 21:11:06
Sorry, Ron. You and your "positive" fans are the only ones walking thru a storm. Many of us have been seeing clearly for over a year now. Btw, your post is contradictory. You say this smells like regime change may be eminent yet you say we should back him? I ask you, what has he done to earn our backing over the last season or so? The back room shake up has done nothing to alleviate the misery we are still seeing on the pitch. The fact that he's LFC manager will no longer cut it because Roy wasn't afforded that type of backing with chants from fans calling for him to be sacked. I'll wait for your answer.

12 Sep 2015 21:11:31
You forgot about the bleached teeth and the young mistress ed 1

12 Sep 2015 21:19:16
Dont worry ed i agree with you just fed up with moaning as it gets us nowhere. We did it for two months and the owners took no notice whatsoever as i'm sure they monitor these sites.

Like i have said MG needs to give his head a wobble and just bite the bullet with this guy. We are turning into another reading, but at least they made the right decision before the dry rot set in too bad.

12 Sep 2015 21:23:57
Spot on, Ed! The only thing we are waiting for now is for the fans at Anfield to turn on him the way they did with Roy which helped lead him to the sack.

12 Sep 2015 22:41:50
I've said it once if I have said it a hundred times, the bloke hasn't a clue! he is fixated with himself and truly believes he is indeed a person who can manage, the man couldn't manage to wash the kit correctly.

How many fullbacks has the bloke bought in his tenure? and still we are reduced to playing a player out of position at left back (and no, I'm not having a pop at young Gomez who I think has done an extremely good job).

The centre back position is problematical, Lovren is not up to it, yet it is apparent Rodgers doesn't feel Sakho is either, so a club of Liverpool's stature has arguably one first choice centre back - Skrtel, who, like so many looks so uncomfortable trying to play to Rodger's system . whatever that may be.

Midfield looks very weak with the absence of Henderson. Lucas is probably the best defensive midfielder we have at the club but in truth he really isn't up to the level that a club wanting to prove itself, and in turn gain (and sustain) a position at the top needs.

Can seems to run around like a headless chicken, seemingly oblivious to the position or manner he is expected and has told to play . Ings finally gets a game, but he may as well have been told to play in goal as to play in the position he played today. Again, in the main it isn't Lucas', Can nor Ings' fault, I'm sure they are trying, the fault lies with Rodgers and his inability to recruit players who can play in his fixated and inflexible system, and arguably, more important, devise a new system that suits those players once it's been established that they can't play in his system.

I felt so sorry for Benteke today, the man has class and ability but he may as well be sitting on the bench at least that way he will have a few players alongside him - so isolated!

The owners must surely have seen today what was apparent . he sent a team out at Old Trafford today for a draw (or as I would more precisely describe it, make sure you don't loose in order to "protect" my job), and when the team went behind he clearly had no idea how to alter things (and this was against a very, very average Utd team).

Forget the two front teeth all I want for Christmas is a P-45 with Rodgers' name emblazoned all over it!

12 Sep 2015 22:44:52
Ron,we're walking through a bloody storm stark bollocking naked pulling a bus with Rogers in charge

12 Sep 2015 23:22:29
GURU, you slate all the other players but exclude the keeper. He's awful if you ask me - every time he distributes the ball it goes back to the other team bringing pressure back on our defense. For me he's probably the weakest link in the team at the moment.

13 Sep 2015 04:04:48
Ed, I think it's tactics AND formation. You can't play 4-3-3 when you don't have any bona-fide attacking flank players to start the game with, and when your only decent crosser of the ball is your chosen centre mid. If he wants to play 4-3-3, needs to play someone like Moreno out wide to use the width. You can't play 4-3-3 and aim for a tunnel ball game.

{Ed001's Note - sorry but you don't have to play a 4-3-3 with wingers. A 4-3-3 used to be 3 strikers and a very narrow formation, so why can't we play it that way? It was always about a big target man in the centre with two nippy forwards right up with him to feed off his knockdowns.}

13 Sep 2015 10:34:01
Yeah I agree in that sense, but BR is playing a formation which doesn't suit his players. Players like Firmino, Ings and Coutinho are not suited to being out wide.

Can you please make a podcast talking about where BR tactically got it wrong? Obviously the tactics where bad, but given how atrocious we were, it's hard to find where to begin.
