I cannot understand the obsession with is it Ben white? The Brighton cb. People here say the slab is hopeless, David Luiz even worse. Lovren hopeless (I definitely am not one of those) fernandinio at cb was average. Erm, the big lad at Leicester overrated. And they're all better than Ben White from what I've seen.

If you want a left field one. I'll go for one of the legend that is macca's predictions: we could do a lot worse than burnley's Tarkowski. Hg. I think he has a bit of pace, good reading of the game and relentless.

And this talk of matip going must be rubbish. But perhaps going for the real betis lad (forgot his name) is to let matip go. If we make enough from matip sale we could buy that lad with plenty of change. Every penny will be profit as he was a free transfer. Did we get anything from lovren move or was that a free? Did I hear 12mil or something. So if we got 20mil for Joel and got the bdtis kid for 8, that would be 24mil (if the lovren deal is correct) is that enough for tarkowski? We must have an extra 6mil to make it 30mil. I think Burnley would be tempted by that and from what I've seen tarkowski is better than white.

I reckon we are looking at bringing in a top top cb. Kalibouly perhaps. Everyone will shoot me down saying we have no money. But we have some. Or we wouldn't be considering thiago for 30milodd and if we can get another 30 from the lovren matip deals, or evdn ogigi. I want to keep origi. But I always get a feeling that when a player bleaches his hair before transfer time, it's to put himself in the shop window. If we could get 50mil from villa for origi, we could throw some of that towards koulibaly and make a cheeky 20mil offer for Watford Sarr?

{Ed001's Note - Tarkowski? He is bloody awful. No thanks. If he only had good reading of the game it would be great, but he doesn't and has to resort to shirt pulling and rugby tackling. His positioning is poor in a team with little room to get it wrong, as they play so narrow and controlled, I hate to think what it would be like if he had space to cover. He is good in the air and good in a one-on-one, though i question if he would be so good in those situations in a team that does not get away with grappling as a defensive system.

I am not sure what you have seen of Ben White but it appears to be very little.}

Seriously tho, Tarkowski? No thanks. As for Ben White, never seen him play BUT I hear and have read that he is the real deal. And all the money math you are doing? I don't understand any of it hence, I have always supported the notion from Ed02 that money issues should never be discussed on here cos well, that part of your post proves it.
